How could my Niners be "gold diggers?" They have won 5 out 5 Championships, the most in the NFL. Hmmm....well if they were digging for gold, they sure did found it.

"Found" is the correct tense; I believe this is called tense aggreement. If you write in past tense form, your verbs need to be in aggreement.
