Made a part out thread tonight and was only able to list 10 items?

Perhaps remove the requirement for a VIN? The parts I listed are leftovers from multiple cars, let alone ones I have purchased from other members and never used.

I'll have to ask the tech team next week if we can increase the number of items in a part-out, you're the first person to mention that it has a maximum. as for the VIN, i don't think we can make it not required, but you can toss in any old string of numbers and it should validate.

cheers,
robb

Why not? I'm not a web page designer, but it should be easy enough to delete that VIN form field from the parts ads. I can understand requiring a VIN in the "cars for sale" sections, as that information is actually useful to a potential buyer, but it makes no sense to require a VIN on the parts ads. Like others have said, the parts may be coming from multiple cars, and requiring sellers to input a garbage # to satisfy the VIN "requirement" is a waste of their time.

Windows 10, on Chrome.
The other day, I attempted to post a wanted ad for some wiring components for my 1991 and it wouldn't go through. Spinning loading screen and it would freeze every time. Of course a reload brought me back to an empty New Post page. I even let it sit for hours, in hopes that it would finally work. At this point I have two posts that are different around 5:30pm, and then the third try sat until after 11pm with no luck. At this point, I can see that I have posted all three ads in the "My Posts" section, and can see that they have hundreds of views already, but cannot view the ads myself so that I may delete duplicates. I get a message from Chrome, "This site isn't working, too many redirects". I cannot edit, respond, or anything else with these posts at this time. I need to post another wanted ad for a fuel tank but I fear the same thing will happen. How do I fix my ads?

Yes, I am. Using the same method of going through "My Posts" to access your response on this thread worked as normal.

I think asking for things to be reverted after a year is perhaps a little unrealistic. Do you have any constructive criticism or suggestions?

Some good constructive criticism would be to make separate pages for different generations. We could have an old school section, 1st gen section, 2nd gen section, and 3rd gen section... oh wait

The new layout makes it hard to navigate with every gen mixed together and all the for sale posts getting buried by WTB posts. Because everyone from 4 different platforms are on the same page now.

I see the option to narrow by generation but a lot of the ads that come up are still for different generations. For example I click on 2nd gen and I’m seeing ads for power plant frames, fd radiator and rew motor mounts.

still no old school section which is unfortunate.

Are you applying the filters in the left sidebar once it's activated?

Here is a search for 1st gen stuff that's only listed for sale, it appears to be accurate to me?

Sorting cars for sale seems to work ok. But sorting parts by generation is an absolute nightmare.

it will do it automatically you on the front page in the upper LH corner by clicking the appropriate “browse by category” link as indicated below (I added the red box outline for emphasis)

what you’re opening and looking at is the full-on advanced search option via the links at the very top of this image:

Can you elaborate on how they don't have a place now? I do not believe we identify anything by number of Rotors....

Nevermind I see how it works now. If you have a part that isnt chassis specific you just listed it under any chassis any year any make. I see that now.

Where did the old section go? We can not even search the old section for history on cars/sales?

The entire old marketplace should be archived for reference. Seeing prices on things sold and seeing how prices have changed over the years is an important metric. In addition to that all the super rare items that have been sold here should be viewable. Lock the section and make it read only but it should still be visible. In addition, the history some parts is in those threads along with images of super rare items from various angles. Sometimes you just never know what someone may need to reference for whatever reason.
