Its so people can have more option to hate us non rotary folk..lol. but on a serious note i think it may be due to the fact that there are a lot more people doing other engine swaps other than the normal v8 swap. Might make searching through the fourm a bit better, those that want to do a v8 swap need only to look in that section if the mods move all the old v8 threads to that spot. Real reason, im not too sure.

the new V8 section is not up yet, think its a way to keep people from voicing their unwanted opinions about the swaps into RX7s

letting the guys have their corner to talk in, leave them alone.

it's for people doing swaps other than v8. I.e. - vg30, 1-2jz, sr20, rb26/rb20, 4g63 etc.

You can pretty much swap almost any engine into an fc if you have the resources, though personally I prefer my rotary, but some people rather have pistons because they're less tempramental.

If I were to do a piston swap, I'd think the most similar would be a sr20 or 4g63 , similar power/torque and engine weight, though most people are doing it to get more torque so they'll likely throw a v6 or bigger in there, if not a v8.

Now they need to make a swap-section "For Sale" sub-forum.

I don't get it. This is going to be a ton of work for some poor mod to split out the v8 threads vs everything else. I don't see much added value in doing it. It wasn't like this section was getting overrun.

Anyone who wants swap info goes to www.norotors.com anyways. My build thread is one of only two stickies over there but I've never wanted to cross post it here since I don't get the ability to edit my posts after the fact and I want the ability to update best practices and the like as I go along.

It also specifies no classified ads, which makes no sense at all
