I didn't realize they put a v8 forum here until now, so I haven't updated my thread. Couple things happened since last update, you can read on my norotors thread for details.

A recent fun thing, from about a month ago, I can share is me and a buddy with a gorgeous LS2 FD went to an event at a little kart track. the event was called "LS series showdown". went there for some autocrossing. Very proud to say buddy ended up winning (which I predicted by the way, you can ask my girlfriend from our drive home), 2nd fastest car was a C6 Z06 w/o cats. I left early b/c I am lame and wasn't feeling well and it was late... some of those guys didn't get home from driving until later than 1AM. I don't have patience for it so just left lol.

But look at the 2nd practice time sheet, I'd say we held our own Just remember: the LS2 FD has never ever seen this track. I drove it once a few years ago when rotary. A bunch of these guys were practicing a month or two leading up to this event. Not trying to talk crap but if we had more seat time hehe

Some vids. Here is an in car video, my first laps. I drove this track once 3 years ago when I was rotary so I kinda remembered it but my lines were all screwed up as I had to relearn it a bit. I got better my 2nd session w/o passenger. I had major fender scrapage on the pass side as some of the turns are real tight and I had a passenger. The 285's with a square sidewall didn't help Also, my ABS light was on (don't know why), and it obviously wasn't working on my 2nd lap So the way my car was set up, I was maxxing out 2nd gear at 6500-6700 rpm on most of the straights, and this made my oil get hot (260*F+). When I was at buttonwillow, much higher speeds, but kept rpm lower (5-5.5k), oil was more like 240 ish. I still don't have an oil cooler on the car but it def needs one.

Anyway had a great time I love driving my car, and having the LS2 FD there too was icing on the cake

Out of car vid, it is a little bit long but the commentary from the DJ/host is interesting lol. If you skip to 4:45 it's my last lap, which felt like my best... but they didn't record the times WTF. After that I left.

Another fun post. Cross posting this on norotors too.

So a buddy of mine who has a Lotus Elise Exige (!) asked if I was going to this autocross... I told him if he goes I'll go. So he was going so I went Anyway, was a ton of fun. $75, I got 10 practice runs in which was nice. Didn't have to pick up cones this time cuz I had to leave early hehe.

Attaching a couple of pics and a go pro vid from my last lap. Would've been my best if I didn't try that fancy heel-toe **** on that one turn... I didn't slow the car down enough in the turn and it was gonna spin.

Had a great time. Car ran like a champ, except oil was going over 260* as measured from the pan. This track is about 2.5 miles long and it was 100*+ last Saturday. Hot! Here is a video from last lap of the day. Excuse the bad quality as the camera is kinda old school.

Perfect timing I guess. I was away from the booth twice for maybe 15 minutes each. Once when they ran the Mazda race cars, once to check out a car from a v8 guy (Darren) who drove out from Texas.
