What's the difference with the L92 and the LS2, if you are planning to up the CI to 427? Cost of block?

Cost of the block is about the same, except that you'd likely need to get the LS2 resleeved.

The l92 has a 4.06" bore (LS2 is 4.0"), so with a 4.125" stroke you'd get 427 CID.

The LS7 is a 4.125" bore with a 4.0" stroke for 427 CID.

To get 427 CID with the LS2 without resleeving you'd need to run a 4.25" stroke, which is pretty extreme and would likely have clearace issues.

Wouldn't you have to stroke the L92 too, at lease 4.119 or something or am I totally off?

Thanks for all your help wingsfan, in answering my questions, I've been asking you this stuff for a while now. hopefully, one day we will run into each other, I am supposed to be moving to Houston in a few months to go to S.A.M. Racing to learn about this stuff.

IIRC the L92 comes from the factory with a 3.62" stroke.

No problem.

Good for you. SAM should be an awesome experience. I'm in Houston a couple times a year to see the rents. If you're out at an MSR Houston track day I'm sure I'll run into you eventually.

Okay...~$6000. I forgot to subtract after selling the rotary/5-speed.

That includes just about everything car and part-wise. I think I can mak it under $10k and have a very nice, quality build up.
