real life and priorities don't always leave time or motivation to work on a car.

No doubt.

Post a picture of your house, roachdiddy. I could use a good laugh.

Jim, your car looks amazing.

I love the color.

I've got alot of e-respect for you for your obvious knowledge of the FD as a whole.

Keep up the good work, man.

Because I don't work on it and don't care about it. That should be obvious.

he asked to see my house and i have no idea why?
I explicitly stated my reason; to have a good laugh at your expense. The only surprise is that it didn't involve a trailer hitch and cinder blocks. Do you own a bowling ball by any chance?

Sure. Instead, you chose to spend all your money trying to impress people with a car. Makes perfect sense, and a smart investment too.

I fail
Yes, you do. Repeatedly. Stick to manual labor and leave the deep thinking to those who are more qualified.

no, the things i say are far to real and up front for a person as soft as you to take. just thank god they have your side on that

and i ask again... lets see your girl. thats not much to ask. nor am i being harsh. you asked the same thing of me, just with diff terms. i am looking for the same outcome a "good laugh"

hahaha i love it when people measure a persons wealth with the house they live in, and or the money they put into a car! good stuff jim, good stuff

Jim,
I hope you find the fire to get back on your project. Your research and attention to detail is extraordinary, inspiring, and a benefit to the community.

The car looks gorgeous just sitting on the stands.

Hey Jim, just re-subscribed!

I have a bet here at work that your car will be done before mine

Probably the only time i bet against myself but it seemed to make sense viewing my current state of interest in my project.

Weve all been watchin your build. Sorry i have not been on for a while so instead of searching, any chance your sleek light project made any forward progress since last year? I am in need or should i say want!

Q. Can I run a power steering rack?
A. Honestly, I don't know. Rolling the rack forward also provides more clearance for the top power steering line and fitting, but since I have a Maval converted manual rack, I was not able to confirm. However, the owner of the cradle shown does have a power rack and we'll know shortly after he bolts everything up whether the line needs to be bent/moved or if everything clears.

What is the Maval converted manual rack? Any different ratio? What is done? Where can i send mine to get it done?

I already ruined a rack trying to relocate one of the pressure ports on the passenger side. When i re-welded it, it warped the tube and the sealing washer on the inside quit sealing!

The 3D CAD guy dropped the ball on the project and then lost his job without telling me for several months. He's since found employment, but hasn't made any progress on the project other than to hand it off to a training instructor as a "class project". That was in March. The last I heard (end of April), they were re-scanning the pod that was created a couple years ago to recreate the file(s) lost when he lost his job. I have no idea when (or if) it'll be finished.

Maval Manufacturing makes aftermarket steering racks and remanufactures OEM racks, and I contracted with them several years ago to modify the stock FD rack (15.0:1) for full manual operation (all lines and internal seals removed, plus the quill shaft welded to eliminate the 4-5 degrees of free-play). I don't know what the current price is, but if you search a little, there are threads on the subject.
