If you think you want to go that route, I'd suggest going to www.v8rx7.com and talk to the people on the forum there. It would be far easier for you to drop in a 13BT and likely cheaper.

it is a very simple, bolt in setup, especially if the 350 motor is fairly stock (so you dont need to upgrde the fuel system too much or the rear end too much).
grannys speed shop makes mount kits for "old" chevy and ford small block swaps.
hinson supercars makes mount kits for the chevy LS1 swaps.
torquecentral.com has loads of info on this conversion too.
I hope to build an LS1 T56 FC convertible for my Dad this upcoming summer.

As mentioned, it's not a very difficult swap. Probably the easiest to accomplish.
My 86 has the same mounting points and I have a standard small block Chevy in it. Mine is an automatic (well it's a racing trans but the theory is the same). A manual trans is a bit more complicated, but still can be done and there are parts available for it.
Your first stop should be www.grannysspeedshop.com since he will have everything you need, including installation instructions online.
For more info than you can possibly digest, the boards at www.torquecentral.com are popular. There's a limited amount of info right here on the rx7club but it's mainly geared toward rotaries. For some more reading try www.wrongmotor.com and www.misred.com and you'll see some pretty good stuff.
Feel free to ask whatever questions come to mind, and most people who aren't rotary fanatics are pretty helpful in this section. Ignore the stupid comments by those who can't figure out which end of a piston engine is supposed to go towards the front
