Hope this does not happen to you and wish you all the success, but those v8-7 kind projects are for sale frequently on craigslist. you could have bought one and sold your shell to some one else. Just saying
But anyways have you checked http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/ for what your doing.
FYI RX-7 in video has stock block 13b running E-85 not that "expensive",check it out.

2. If you had read the thread you would have noticed that the swap kit I took pictures of is in fact the grannys kit.
3. Even if that rotary wasn't a bank-breaker, it will be once it pops, and I'm sure it's not running completely stock to be able to keep up with 350 horse.
This is all. Constructive comments ahoy.

Funny. My FB doesnt have the sliding hood option
I kid, I kid....
Man..... That interior is SICK. Weight reduction at its finest!
But, I know a guy at mazdaspeed that can still get a race ratio steering box... He is absolutely adamant that it doesnt get sold to a V8-7, but wouldnt that be a great solution or what?? Before talking to him, I didnt even know there was such a thing.
He did comment that even the supposed "race" boxes still developed slop over time.
Its worth a try, call mazdaspeeds 800 number and ask for kris, hes selling it.

1. I spent 8 hours just retrieving the car, and it wasn't a shell when i got it, so no. Also, I don't care what's on craigslist or ebay or autotrader or sitting on the street with a for sale sign.

2.The rx7 in the vid is stock block as in stock ports, stock internals making 600hp on e-85,it's all about proper tuning which alot of people still don't get, equals less chance of "POP" and the other rx7 in the vid with the v8 had nos im sure he had more than 350hp.
But regardless i still wish you luck

Haha so they did, but they can't stop the awesome, they can only sip the haterade. Not much to report, but Ed Curtis at FTI did email me back with some great advice and suggestions, I'm waiting to hear a quote from him for a cam rockers and 5/16 studs, then work can begin again in earnest.

Bad news time, although the check is out for the rockers studs and cam (and a big thanks to Ed for being such a great guy to work with) after spending hours getting the air out of the new SS lines I realized that my master cyl is shot, the pedal won't consistently hold, and with some prodding always falls to the sheetmetal, making me think my seals are toast.
New one is on the way, and a rebuild kit so I can rehabilitate the left front caliper which wants to stick. While I was at it I ordered door seals, and once the cam is in and the valvetrain done I'll already have enough to get an intake manifold. Slowly but surely...

Finally, another update for you guyses. I tried to refurb my sticking caliper, and see if i could get it to not be impossible to retract, but alas I failed and had to buy a new one.
^Bad pitting, perhaps this caused things to suck?
^Plenty of naste in the caliper, I cleaned it all out but it didn't help me, perhaps the seals were swollen or something? Couldn't get the pot back in.
^Driveway cleaner treatment. F-kd is right.
And now for your super special bonus round! A video update for you three loyal followers!

Some people are lazy and don't want to type, so they make videos. I'm one of these people.

Love the Exxon Valdez opening pictures. This will be a fun project which I'm sure you are realizing that already. Don't forget to thank your folks for letting you play mad scientist.
Start looking for a Mustang or similar 8.8" rear end. You are going to need it Same bolt pattern as a Mazda BTW..... Just need to swap over the mounting brackets from your factory rear end. Lots more gear ratio options too. For cheap.

That's iffy, even though I now have almost every part I need the weather is being uncooperative, and I'm not quite as motivated. Who knows though, maybe I'll get more of the fuel system assembled by tonight...
