[Wanted to Buy] 93-95 rx7 with ls swap
#7
I've seen plenty of ones that just need a little TLC in that price range, honestly. When you get into the 20k+ range, you're talking very well sorted cars with P/S and A/C, etc. 13-15k will get you a decent condition body, fair interior and a stock motor/trans generally with no P/S or A/C installed.

For 15k, you will not get a nicely swapped car with a samberg swap kit. Quality parts = quality price. We all know you have to pay to play. It will show in the V8 RX7 you purchase, Good luck.

Keep in mind, you're unlikely to get what you spent on the car out of it, and I can build an LS1/FD with Samberg stuff, done VERY well, with no A/C or P/S for less than 15k, including chassis.
If you want perfect paint, perfect interior, and ALL functions, you are going to spend 20-25k, depending on engine mods, rear end, etc.
I'm pretty confident in my numbers here, I've built >10 of these things.

I agree, I spent over $20K for my LS1 FD w/almost perfect paint, perfect interior, all functions, etc.... But for that money you get a turn-key car that you never have to spend money modding or repairing unless you want to.

It depends how complete of swap you want and what you can and can't live with.
Pez on norotors has a story about a swapped car he bought that caught on fire because the builder/PO used a hose clamp on a fuel line and wired the fuel pump direct, not a great combo.

my FD with complete color change paint job, volk ce28's, suspension work, slightly built LS1/T56 with samberg kit and properly done by a shop that's done 15+ swaps will probably be priced at $20-22k once i'm ready to sell

thanks everyone! And im not worried about it having a perfect paint job bc its going to be a straight drift car and everyone knows drift cars dont usually stay perfect. as long as it has a good motor and the swap is done correct and with good parts no wiring or other issues.

Heck I am having a tough time finding the motor I want for less than 10,000. If you go with a 5.3 or some other truck motor and really scrounge i guess you could do one on the budget side but most of the nice ones i have seen are bumping 30k.

"the shop san Bruno" find them on face book
the owner a has a mild built LS7 FD which is his daily that makes 500whp, pretty bad ***
they completed my entire swap in about 3 weeks, included waiting for parts from Samberg and hinson, I was surprised at how on schedule they are, most shops say 3 weeks but take 3 months to show real progress
and for the time my car was in the shop, 3 other FD's with LSx swaps come through and had to get mickey mouse labor from other shops fixed, in the bay area, they're one of the most trusted shops when it comes to LSx swaps, the only thing is they don't tune, but newtech can take care of that
