85 rx7 sbf?
I was told a small block ford will bolt up to my bell housing. Is this true? And if it is, do I have to molest the car so badley I can't go back to my rotary? I want to play with the car, just can't afford to rebuild the 13b at the moment.

You summed it up with the word "molest." Cheapest options would be to either buy a used 13B to drop in the 7, or sell the 7 and buy a used Fordsomething to drop your smallblock in.

So let me get this straight:
You don't have enough money to rebuild the STOCK engine in the car, so you're going to do an engine swap to save $$?
I'm going to take a WILD guess here and say you haven't been working on cars for long have you?

He could already own the engine, and tools necessary for fabricating various parts needed to make it fit?

Tasty danish, no need to start with the sarcasm. Just asking questions, and yes it is far cheaper to small block one than rebuild a 13b that needs a rotor, housing, and 2 irons. I am new to the rotary scane, and probably don't know about all the resources for rotary parts. By what I can find, I'm looking at well over 2 grand to rebuild. Just trying to get informed.

You can do a rebuild cheaper than 2000, however I'll just say:
Get a whole other engine swapped in and running for under 2K and I will make a video of me singing "i'm a little tea-pot" in the nude. And when your junk-yard v-8 has a spun bearing or leaky valve seals then what?
If you're worried about $$, you need a paradigm shift in your thinking. IF money is the primary concern, scrapping a basically working, stock platform for something totally different is fundamentally a flawed approach. You need a cheap basic rebuild with used parts, or find yourself a runner to swap in.
