TII vert. racing beat exhaust, FCD, high flow fuel pump, cone style air filter

Just got back from the dyno. here's what a mostly stock TII with basic mods will put down.
If i can get the vid from my friend i'll try and get that up too. its full of backfire flame shooting goodness

i didn't have a boost gauge hooked up today, but i had one on last week driving around. in 4th gear on the highway, it would get up to about 10psi. they did that run in 4th gear, so i figure it was around there.
I just haven't found a good spot for the gauge yet. it was zip tied to the windshield wiper before...

That's about right.
DD dyno reads lower than a DynoJet.
The DynoJet typically will show about 220 - 230hp with those mods.
IME, the DD reads about 7% to 10%, so you're right in the money.

zac, i think you're gonna have to rebuild it first. it let out a ton of oil smoke after the run. so i suspect the oil seals are on the downhill :-/
oh well, drive it till it breaks then build it better!

glad to hear its about where it should be. I was happy with it, plus the AFR's look good to me. that was my main concern. since this car is my DD (eek!) i'd rather not blow it up any time soon

quick question, I thought most dyno pulls were performed in 3rd gear. they did this pull in 4th. would there be any difference if they had done it in 3rd?

It should be done in 4th. The gear ratios are 1:1 there.

it doesn't matter on a DD as long as they set the ratio correctly in the system. 4th is easiest and is no issue especially for just a power pull.

Not a good idea.

Blown oil seals means it needs to be rebuilt but can usually be done so without a lot of new parts (rotors, housings, e-shaft, stationary gears, plates, etc.....)

Waiting till it grenades is only going to take more money out of the guy's pocket, as you risk damaging "hard" parts.

Do it before it is much worse.

rock, i don't plan on letting the motor go to complete hell before doing anything about it. as it is right now, it may be the oil seals in the engine, but it might be the oil seal in the turbine side of the turbo as well. I need to pull the exhaust and check, but i haven't got around to it yet with all the other things that need attention on this car.

Davidov, i'm using the Rotary Performance fuel pump

check your plugs and you should be able to deduce if its an engine oil seal or not.

replaced plugs this weekend, they looked good to me. no oily residue. so that leads me to believe its the turbo more-so

When my oil seals were shot it would smoke only durring two conditions. When starting after sitting for a few days or more, and deceleration in gear from high RPMS. It never smoked under any other conditions.

that's not when they're shot... that's when they are starting to let go. when they're wasted the car will continuously blow smoke. not a pretty sight.

don't worry rocklobster his engine will recieve the attention it needs in due time haha
