my 87 Turbo II pulled 14.5 at 99.49 mph at the texas motorplex in ennis when i drove home after i got the car.. the thing had 2.5" catback exhaust, a bonez high flow cat, a 2.5" downpipe, and a boost controller pushing 11 psi, and the k&n filter in the stock air box...
the rx7 i own currently, an 88, pulled 12.4 at 121 mph with the previous owner, which was witnessed by myself and many friends... the idiot pulled the vacuum line off the wastegate and pushed full boost out that t3/t4 hybrid its got... i know when i drove the car before the motor went, in 4th gear it hit 22 psi in the intercooler piping.... so 22 pounds of boost on stock ecu and the nly fuel upgrades were the warlboro fuel pump and 720 cc secondaries... motor is being built now with a street port and 93 rotors, and will hopefully prove more reliable for me than it was for the previous owner... and hopefully faster, the next step is a fluidyne aluminum radiator and a haltech ecu... btw the 12.4 at 121 was on 205/60R16 all weather tires... so hopefully with some better tires and the new motor i can hit lower 12's or break 11's... i also put my stage 4 bonez clutch in and my 12 lb billet aluminum flywheel(7 lb + 5 lb counterweight)... the car also has a S5 rear end and transmission, and S5 exhaust manifold, and both upper and lower part of the intake manifold are ported

Iam not sure about S4, but I had a stock port 1st gen 12a with headers and a non tuned non rotary Holley 600 and ran 15.6? I have not run 1/4 miles very much, I run 1/8 miles more often(9.5) I figured TII, **** should be better than my time?
What RPM did you launch at? I launch at 4500-5000. I think you will get alot better times with more track time!

You still have your cats on(I will assume yes, since you are in cali)? If they are original they are probably clogged? That would be the first thing I would check.
Just practice some more and launch a little higher(in the rpms) unless you feel like you are launching good enough?

LACR is horrible
That being said, you should still be faster. If you're all stock it wouldn't surprise me if your cats were clogged. I know you're in california but at the least get rid of your pre cat with a 2.5'' dp. into the stock cat.

Thats what I would do first, get a big free flowing cat! Since you have to pass smog, being in cali? That SUCKS ! ! ! I dont know much about 2nd gens, but I would think you should easily get what C&D says it should get?
