Right.....

I hope you mean 15.8, otherwise that is quite physically impossible.

show us a timeslip of your 14.8. for some reason i have a hard time believing you ran a 14.8 with exhaust and wired 6ports.

Even if I see a timeslip I'm not going to believe it, because its impossible with only those mods. mid 15s I could believe with good tires and and good driver.

eh i believe it

ehh i believe it... detriuch ( he's on the forum) ran a 14.6 in a semi gutted s4 base. motor was a stock port w/ exhaust and w/ PS, AC etc... removed.. i've seen the stack of timeslips and actually seen the car run too... he pulled quite a few mid/high 14 second passes...so it's believeable... however you'd have to be one hell of a driver

Yeah, i have detriuchs car now, its fast as ****, i had a 4port N/A motor in there with a few more mods than he had when he had it, and its a bit quicker too. Ive got the 14.6 time slips (yes more than one on different days so its not the track). Peace

OMG...

i was expecting better times...i'm not trash talking or anything, cuz you all are like my rotary brothers...but BONE STOCK...and i mean...not one damn thing done to my car, i had a 1987 red NAFC BASE MODEL...so this was the 4 lug model, i managed a 15.87 with street no name POS tires. then a couple months later i bought a 1986 shell 5 lug gxl, and put the 87 engine in it, and had lsd, the only mods on that car was K&N air filter, racing beat headers, Apexi N1 exhaust with 3 inch piping all the way back. now you might think, wow, 3 inch is too much for NA, but no...not at all. i also had a lot of the emissions BS removed...so with all this done,

14.8s all day. my best reaction time was .504 but i'm still looking for my time slips, i think my mom threw them away, but all in all, my car is non turbo, no porting of any kind, and is pretty fast. and i believe its all in driver as well. i was only 16 when i was getting those times. my PS, AC were all removed, i have a black magic e fan, and an upgraded radiator. i was running kumho ecsta's on t2 rims. i think all in all i'm a good driver...or could it be a freak motor?

Yes but he didnt say he car was gutted, he said exhaust, and it would have to be pretty freaking gutted to run 14s with just exhaust.

My Old SE with just a mid-pipe and actuators wired open
ran a 15.4 with a 2.2 60'
I'm sure with a set of drag radials could of got a 15.1 or so.....
It did have weight reduction
no AC
no carpet
no air pump
removed all pollution stuff
light wheels

and Mr. HKS most likely has headers and aftermarket piping and mufflers

with good tires 14's seems to be within possiblities for a "SE" Model

well the car isnt really "gutted".. it has the carpet and plastic interior pieces from the seats back taken out.. thats about it.... the car isnt cut up or anything.. i think THAT particular case has to do with detriuch being a damned good driver and him not being afraid of breaking his car... he rips on em' pretty hard at the track

14.7 @ 95
2.33 60ft

Stock 89 TII w/no mufflers, top of airbox removed, ACT Street/Strip clutch, Ric Gillis Boostvalve@10 PSI, cheap Turbo XS BOV.

Not too bad for a stock exhaust/intake Turbo II. If I got even a 2.0 60ft I would have been running something like a 14.4. Not complaining. I can't wait until I get a turbo-back exhaust, fuel pump, and a custom TID. Hoping for mid 13's. Think it's possible?

Man this is cool. Im new..i just signed up tonight. I feel in love with RX-7 when i was 9. My uncle had a TII, GReddy Power Extreme Exhuast, headers back. Aluminium flywheel, HD clutch, intake, full eibach suspension, Mr. C's short shifter, Nitto tires, had the bbs rims, black, that car was nice. Fast as all hell too, we'd walk all over camaros, mustangs, preludes, just about anything.

Sad but true story, the performance shop he was getting his car worked on got evicted, now both of his TII's (one of which was going to be mine) are completely gone. Well the up side is...he gotta 85 glse, RB headers, primary/secoindary cats taken off, holley carb, RB intake (which sides right off the block), aluminium clutch/flywheel, the weber/RB intake manifolds, and that **** is scarey fast lol.

Now, im going to buy a N/A 88, bone stock. Plan on leaving it N/A for awhile. Until i really learn how to drive, but heres some mods i plan on doing.

Holley intake kit, float bowl kit (i'll be racing touring style) RB full exhaust, clutch/flywheel - Aluminium, 3 inch radiator, uh...its too late to think..i'll update my list later. GO CUBS!!

Looks like you need some better tires for that 60ft.
