Camden Supercharger Run with Temps
So I hear alot about Camdens, but no one has much actual data, so heres my dyno comparison with and without nitrous on one day, and without on a cooler night.
The Car- 1991 NA fc body, 5inch Camden supercharger 8psi (the smallest one they sell) 1988 TII engine and transmission, street port, Atkins 2 mm apex seals, RB header, silencer, Borla Catback, Haltech E6X, Innovate wide band, 70 shot via NOS wet kit (nozzel 20 inches from throttle body), autonomics throttlebody and 5X52lb injectors.
The comparo-Ran 8 runs alternating with and without nitrous on Defined Autoworks Dynopak, axle dynos in Clumbus OH. I record air temps before the supercharger, 2 locations after the supercharger, egts, and ambient with K type thermal couples. It was a hot day, my ambiet sensor read 95 F when the wind stoped blowing. Note 200 ftlbs @3800 rpm, and 220 HP max. Tons of area under the curve. RR is the rear rotor after supercharger, FR in the front rotor after the supercharger. The 80F increase across the camden is identical to the eaton M90.
Night run -The night run was 65-70 degrees. Not the most impressive, but nice and linear. 186 hp versus the 170 hp on the hot day.

It was a 9.7 compression NA which was OK, my friends SI with header, and intake ect used to beat me so that had to go, plus the ecu hated any mods. I never ran my TII engine w/o the supercharger.

That depends on how deep your pockets are...
since you can prolly find a T2 for what a supercharger alone will cost and at 220 hp w/ nitrous we're still inside the realm of what a T2 w/ minor bolt ons can accomplish. But you do get that power a little sooner...

i love drifting, and im thinking that a s/c might work better for me than a t2. Money is a problem, but it always is, im willing to save if i need to so in due time. I think with a s/c i might have more controle over the car at all rpm ranges than a t2 so a s/c is prob what i want, im not too interested in how much hp i can get out of a car, i want the car to match my driving style and enhance it, hope that doesnt sound too stupid, it makes sense in my head

Turbos are better, but superchargers are alot of fun and great for someone who has less experiance, and wants to drive the **** out of their car daily. Lets face it none of us make it to a track that often. Most of us autocross in first and second gear, driff in parking lots, or drag race at test and tune days. For that a Camden is a good reliable option. My Camden put up with 35000 miles of autocrossing, cross county drives, drag racing, and nitrous.
I was going to post this else where, but I have been on a quest sence I got my nitrous to blow my car up. I've had this project for too long and it's time for something new. I was running a 120 shot when I finally worked or so I though. My bottle was over filled, 1600 psi, and rising due to heat and I was too lazy to get out and vent it so I flipped it on and punched it. The explosion was two fold a pop from under the hood and a vent for my tank in the back of my car followed by the squeel of a belt. The engine was fine but the supercharger was locked up.
Thinking I had done the deed I popped the supercharger open to find there was nothing wrong with it, the driven rotor has slipped it's timing. (see pic, the one on the left is the driven, and the collet had slippined see link for details on a collet http://tsubaki.ca/pdfs/sectionF.pdf ) Could have reset the timing and run, but the seals where worn and I had melted the some of the coating off in a fire in 2005, so I am sending to Camden for a rebuild.
My point is the Camden is a tough supercharger in my experience.
That being said I'm going to run NA with nitrous until I finish building my turbo kit, because I am ready for more power .

You have to go efi, the carb not matter what you do with it (special floats, jet extenders, ect) will not work. I am not a good drifter, but I have tried and with the efi it worked fine. There is a guy selling a 7inch with the efi setup I am running on this forum for like $1400. If you cann't find it, message me.
