i don't believe the dowel land is any thicker than the S4 irons and it will quickly start becoming the weak link at these power levels on a higher horsepower engine, regardless of tune.
the good side is that you did not tear it down to rebuild it so the engine has some aged rigidity built into it but with that comes the bad that the coolant seals probably won't last long.

Well its still running, however I decided to sell my old setup and go to something smaller for now.
It won't be seeing 400whp in the next few months. I am temporarily using a to4b v2 until I can decide on the exact turbo I want.

I picked up the motor locally for parts so the mileage is unknown. After compression testing it I decided to use it as is. Will the rear iron crack.. I don't know, I guess we will find out in time.
My fuel system consist of Twin Walbros, 1200cc/1600cc Injectors, a1000-6 regulator It is a parrallel setup with individual lines running from the tank.

I recently bought a Borg Warner s362 for my s5 tii and I also am looking to make 350-400 rwhp on a stock port engine. To make that kind of power, do you think I would also need to boost around 16-17 like you? I was told at 12-13 lbs I should see close to if not 350 rwhp... What are your thoughts?

Im loving this post. Sad to see that you downsized the power atm but i understand. I am working on finishing up my S4naT. Haltech Platinum 1000, Injector dynamics 1000/2000cc injectors, divided housing precision 6765, walboro pumps, aero fpr, Dynatek ignition. All stock keg out of the base i bought back in 09. Ran it hard in the NA, did the t2 bolt on with safc, and now im bumping up the rest of the setup. This will be in a T2 shell with T2 drivetrain (stock s4 keg, unk mileage). I may attempt to add water injection as well. Also, will be on pump gas. I WILL PROBABLY BREAK SOMETHING BECAUSE IM GREEDY, but i will do my best to have the safest tune possible in the ~400whp range.
Frosty i'll be watching to see more good news from the NA keg...

Some 1/8th mile runs from tonight. Not too fast, but for a 20 year old 6 port motor with a t04b it runs pretty well.
Fastest time so far with t04b: 8.2 at 89. (I trapped 91 on a different run)

the rear plate is going to break anything over 20psi is the max i found out the hard way,but good luck,ive also found some engines the dowel pin castings sizes depends if you get a good cast or not jus luck

the wings in the exhaust have to hurt spool time. i have built a few high compression turbo engines properly(4 port blocks with turbo exhaust port sleeves), running hybrids which are dogs for response yet they spool instantly.. to the point i am jealous and want to up my engine from it's low compression 8.5:1 rotors that take forever to spool my rather large T70. but with that lag does come peace of mind that the low compression rotors can handle quite a bit of abuse compared to the finicky high compression variants. these are the original rotors still and have over 210k miles on them, now pushing about 350 to the wheels(have been over 300whp for about the past 60k miles).
it just feels nice getting on the throttle and seeing full boost by 3400 RPMs with a journal bearing turbo.
i do like seeing threads like this though, reminds me of how much abuse these basic engines can take and while still have the handicap of the n/a port sleeves which are probably robbing you of about 15% peak horsepower.

BTW did a track day with this setup on 20 psi. I was out on track for a total of an hour that day until my Manifold to turbo gasket blew out. Not bad reliability wise considering it is just a 4 dollar exhaust gasket.
I am getting a smaller turbine housing in the next few weeks.

That is an awesome gasket, however its already been replaced. I got it all back together switched to a .68 turbine housing as well for the time being. It was still a bit too laggy with the 1.15 divided. bad thing is the .68 housing is non-divided but it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. Will be interesting to see how it does, its super small for a rotary application but I am willing to try new things. Also wired up a boost solenoid for my haltech to try and make it easier to switch between 93 and e85 with dual maps.

I am confident the motor could go a lot higher, I am pretty sure when I was running 20psi on the t70 it was making about 450whp. e85 just keeps everything so safe.
I have never had any detonation with e85, not even with what would be considered unsafe AFRs on a 93oct motor.
