Yup, it can be done. Read the Sport compact car build up. They have 18x8.5 up front and 18x10 in the rear. The difference is that they have coilovers and a lower ride height which allows them to use more offset and avoid fender interference. I plan on using 18 8.5/9.5 Volk TE37's on my FD. If you are interested in a group buy at about $445 per rim let me know.
