Wheel Bearing Maintenance

Wheel Bearing Maintenance
How often, what mileage interval, etc.
My FD has 92,500 miles with about 1/3 of those miles from sports car driving...and I've never regreased the wheel bearings...so far I don't seem to have a problem...
Wheel bearings are one of those parts you just take for granted...
Should I just clean, inspect, and re-grease the bearings, or just replace them eventhough there aren't any apparent problems with the bearings?
Thanks in advance!

The bearings are sealed, so you can't regrease them. If they are loose, replace them. Otherwise, leave them alone.
My rear bearings have become loose, but it turns out it is a PITA to replace them so I am going to have a shop do it. You have to remove the upright and get them pressed out and in. The symptoms are that I can "steer" the rear wheel despite having good bushings everywhere. It clunks a bit, too.
The fronts should be very easy, and you can get them from Mazdaformance for less than $100 each right now. You get a hub with bearings and wheel studs, etc. I have heard of people cooking the fronts from track use (they get too hot with the heat from the brakes).

Thanks, Max! I don't seem to have a problem right now, despite the amount of track time that's on the front bearings!!!
Good luck with the OTC!
BTW, Doug Livingston should have pricing on the Pirellis now. The Pirelli reps were all at the 24 hours at Daytona last weekend, which is why Doug couldn't get an answer from them.
Best to you!
