I love these tyres. I believe they are no longer made, but I have used them on the track and street and for the price they have performed well and with around 6-7k on them they still have at least 4/32 of tread left.

I had falken's on my 7 and did not like them. Have ReO1'rs now and love them. Very sticky tire and are ok in the rain. I could be bias since I would for Bridgestone but there must be a reason F-1 and moto GP all use Bridgestone tires!!!

Bridgestone probably had the leverage when F1 was going spec tires and Michelin had the massive screw up at Indy. In motoGP, I do believe it is still the rider's choice between Bridge or Mich to use the entire season.

You are correct about the Moto GP and they do use both.

http://www.motogp.com/en/about+MotoGP/tyres

About F1 they are using them and there is no speculation that they are going to change tires or that anyone is unhappy. I will say that I have heard that Nascar is not happy with Goodyear and they are wanting to change over to Bridgestone. I am not for sure on this but that has to tell you something about Bridgestone tires.

Perhaps because Bridgestone signed a contract to make all F1 tires?

Surely they were not the only manufacturer to try to get the contract, but that has little to do with any tire you can put on your car with the name "Bridgestone" on it.

I would not say that because what they experience on the track they can transfer to the street and they do use the drivers to help design tires that they make for the street.

The RE-01R is an excellent tire, but buying a set today has little to do with their current R&D activity.

I used these tires too for a little over a year for Autocrosses, a couple of track events and street driving. They were reasonably priced, lasted a long time, great dry traction, SCARY wet traction but seemed to get harder and lose more traction after a lot of heat cycles (which is to be expected). Mine were eventually replaced even before being corded since they just got too hard Check out some of the "R" type rubber from Yokohama.

Only downside is they are quite expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I'll second that. They are also very light...as much as 4lbs lighter than its competitors in a similar size

Falken FK452 - not as grippy as Michelin PS2 or Bridgestone RE-01R but quality and a great price.

This makes it sound like Discount Tire is producing them lolz.

Falken now makes this tire exclusively for Discount Tire. I like them as a good performance DD tire, but they get greasy, though predictable and "fun," when hot.

on the fronts i have rt615s right now. i love these things and the price is decent. i had fed ss59s when i had 17s up there. for rears ive used a few sets of 595s, i really like these and they are way cheap, and i have a pair on dz101 direzzas on my rpf1s. one of my favorite tires but a bit more expensive. slightly more than the 615s but its worth it. those and the feds are pretty capable in the wet i would assume, i drove in sprinkles the other day and that about the most rain ive ever driven mine in.

Weird. I used to run Azenis ST-215 on my daily driver and then got a set of Direzza DZ101s. The Direzzas had WAY less grip (but were otherwise a decent, more comfortable street tire).

Wait, you must be running Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec (Oh My God The Name Is So Long...) tires, and not the DZ101.

This might just be another case of under-specified tire model misunderstanding. It happens a lot. "You man, I got me some Potenzas now cuz them Goodyears weared out too fast. I'm never buyin' Goodyears again." :P

i use federals 595... super sticky, aggressive tread pattern and for a good price, you can prolly get them for 60 bucks each. They're good for drifting if your into that stuff, but i use it for daily driving, no complaints.

goodyear is worthless i used to work for them. theres way better stuff for the money. i used my employ discount on dunlops because thats the only thing they own thats worth a ****. some of the gy truck tires are nice but what good is that...even then 9 times out of 10 i would buy federals because they are cheaper and just as good as direzzas.
