What 17x9 wheel for F+R?

I'm looking for a relatively cheap lightweight wheel 17x9" that will fit my FD front and rear (45mm offset?) with Eibach springs.

I've got a set of SSR Integrals, 17x8 and 17x9" currently for street rubber. I want to upgrade to 17" wheels with the same size rubber all the way around. My problem is I have 3 17x9" wheels (one spare) but Tire Rack says the 9" Integral is discontinued.

Jeff,

I'm not aware of any other wheels that will fit properly...the 9 x 17, 45-mm offset SSR Integral A2 is perfect with a 255/40-17, and is the only one-piece cast wheel that came in that size and offset...

I'm sure that the SSR GT-1s come in 9 x 17, 45-mm offsets, but they're slightly heavier, and much more expensive at $375 each...(I think from Tire Rack?)...

I'm glad I bought five SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset when I did. I just knew that $289 each for a forged wheel in that size and offset was just perfect and the money was right too

I guess you're just looking for one SSR Integral A2 in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset aren't you?

Yep, I'm looking for one 17x9" A2 Integral. Wanna sell your spare?

I meant to mention that I'm going to be putting R-compound rubber on these wheels, 255/40/17 Kuhmo V700s to replace stock wheels with 245/45/16 Kuhmos.

Enticing, but I mass pass I like to rotate the "spare" into service...it allows me to get extra mileage out of the AVS Intermediates

For something inexpensive I would suggest the Enkei NT03. The Enkei wheel RE-A used on one of their FD's. I have these in 17,9 +43 which will work with a 245/40 front and rear.

The whole set can be had for about $700.00 shipped with hardware.

Thanks, Rishie

This is a Enkei Tuning wheel meaning it's lightweight, made for race application, and made in Japan.

They are 19 lbs ea. And very strong for a cast wheel.

Yeah, my 9 x 17 SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset, weigh about that much...That's a good deal on the Enkeis...may consider them for another set of track wheels

Enkei NT03 in Super Street

Super Street featured a white RE Amemiya Rx7 with polished (chrome?) Enkei NT03 wheels in 9 (fr) // 10 (rr) x 17 with 255/40-17 Yokohama A048 tires all the way around. Check it out...

Rishie, what deals can be had with the updated NT03+M Enkeis? They now come in 9.5 x 17, 44 mm offset. Weight is 20 lbs each. This is light for a wheel this wide, and on par with Forgeline RSes in the same size except 50 mm offset. I'd considering buying a set of FIVE NT03+Ms (in F1 Silver) with 255/40-17 Pirelli P-Zero Asymmetrics (OE Porsche fitment N1s)

What about Enkei RPF1s? Enkei's site has them listed in 17x9 +45. Check out http://www.enkei.co.jp/pro-mat/p-f.html and click on the RPf1s. These are pretty incredible wheels for the price tag. Not to mention they are very light as well.

I have RPF1's and there the finest-widest-lightest-wheel for the cash....

I have a 91 Turbo II w/ 17 x 9.5's (R) +38mm & 17 x 9 (F) + 35mm offsets. The 9.5's weigh 16.5lbs and have a 73mm enter bore.. From the factory there kinda polished out (not chrome) w/ clear coat, so thats pretty cool and easy to take care of

I spent about $305 per wheel and 21.00 for the center caps, which I'm ditching for some CCW flush aluminum caps....

Oh, that's news. I didn't know the 45-mm offset 9 x 17s were available!

What sort of luck would one have running the 17x9.5 +38 all around... just on the track? Would that work up front?

I know whenever you look on japanese wheel sites, they always spec real low offsets like 35 for the front of FDs.

Yeah, the Japs love the wide track look with low offsets. Just roll the fender lips, and use 255/40-17s, you should be ok...(these will sit 0.24 inches more outward per side compared with a 44 mm offset, 9.5 wide x 17 Enkei NT03+M).

you should be fine on the 9.5's on all 4 corners....Like I said I have 9's on the front of a 91 TII and the 9.5's on back... They have 17 x 10 in RPF1's too, and I tried one on my car and it fit (R)....however they only sent one from Enkei-TX and according to Enkei Japan it would be months before I saw the other one (long story) but I thought 9.5's w/ 275's would be fine.... my .02

Kevin Wyum has CCW 17 x 10's up front on his FD
( don't know offset) and 17x 11's on back with 315's and no flairs...nice! anyway, so you should be fine

Re: What 17x9 wheel for F+R?

Jeff,

Do you still have your 3, 9 x 17, SSR Integrals in 45-mm offset? I might be interested in buying them, along with buying Peter's set of rear 9 x 17, 45-mm offset Integrals--giving me another set of 5, 9 x 17s to wrap 255/40-17 Pirelli P-Zero Corsas for track events. Email me with a price. Shipping will be to 46217 ZIP.

Sleep.

I just picked up a set of Integrals with 2 17x8 and 2 17x9 wheels. I am interested in trying to get 17x9 all the way around. If your plans to get two sets of 5 dont work out let me know if you want to sell 2. Drop me an email at shawn@3rdgenrx7.com if you want to contact me.

Thanks,

Shawn

Shawn,

Plans fell through. Peter traded his Integrals, and I have not seen a reply from Jeff. I guess I'll keep my set of five 9 x 17s, with 255/40-17 Pirellis (see my sig pic LOL )
