WED'S WHEELS some advice please on SA90
I'm interested in the Weds SA90 wheels 17x9, offset 35/20 i was thinking in useing 17x9, 20 of rear and 17x9, 35 of front
i was thinking, with the difference in offset be enuf so that the rear rims stick out a little than the front ?
and usually i know they use 8" or 8.5" for the front but the 9" looks better (like photo!) but im scared it would stick out the guards and scrap ? does anyone have 9" allround if so please help me with the offsets and does anyone have wed wheels anyway ?

Im trying to think about the offset the larger the number (35) the nearer the rim gets to the shock springs? right.
And the smaller the number (20) the wider the car looks can someone confirm this please?.
ANYONE COMMENT ON THIS PLEASE AND DOES ANYONE LIKE THIS RIM DID ANYONE COMPLAIN ON WEDS WHEELS ANY COMMENTS APRICIATED?

I'd consider myself pretty knowledgeable on wheels, and I must say I have never heard of WED wheels. I'v heard of Weld, but not WED.
And yes, the higher the number offset, the more the rim is "tucked inside" the wheelwell, meaning the inside lip of the wheel will be closer to the suspension/body/ A low number offset pushes the wheel outside teh car, think of those Hispanic lowrider trucks with the small wire wheels that sit out far.

WEDS Wheels:
http://www.weds.co.jp/products/03_index.htm
There's a whole world outside the US, AMRAAM4.
If you want to do 17x9, do the SleepR1 fitment - 17x9 +45ish all four corners. +35 front is too much and will stick out past the guards/fenders a tiny bit. Definitely have some fitment issues.
Looking at the SA-90 product page, you are apparently limited to only two offsets in 17x9 - the two you mentioned:
http://www.weds.co.jp/products/wedss...a-90/table.htm
If you are stuck on these wheels, the best selection is 17x8 +35 front and 17x9 +35 rear given the limited choices.
How many Maltese RX7 owners are there anyways? Or the big question is - where the heck do you guys drive them on that tiny island(s) of yours? Malta is my fav country BTW. Knew it was an awesome place when I found this to greet me when I first arrived (summer '01), hehe. Belong to anybody you know?:

I know 17x8 will fit but i was wondering if i could have that skyline look with the deep rim you know!!!!!!!!! if only 17x9 +35 would fit for the fronts are you shure dclin about what you stated on the offsets??
just recently rx7 were coming in like cats n dogs not just rx7 alot of jap cars too. but since the fd has the shape and the performance maltese people tend to like the package like air con, abs, power st, twin torbo, not to mention the integras R, FTO's, Glanza, supra's, impreza's, evo's and skyline's, they are all good cars in malta there is a 3-4 of single turbo fds, and some of my friends are going nut on mods, we car enthusuasts meet at the drag race track at Halfar were theres a cold war agains ford owners who claim they are the king of street drags. We currently had some succes last week when my friends FD ran 12. with a xs single turbo set up running 14psi. it was a gread day just to tell the ford owners it all good and there is a Escort mark 1 with a 13b rotary that ran 10.4 and there is a couple of people that are moding 3.0litre toyota for drag cars only. the Jap scene is exploding and im seeing cars that ive never seen before !!

Yeah, I have no life and do nothing but read about FDs. Plus I'm on my 4th set of 18"+ wheels and fighting the urge to order a new set. 17x9 +35 way too far out for my comfort. You might get away with it if you run narrower tires and have a more aggressive negative camber setting, but it's right on the edge.
FWIW, an established (extreme) fitment is 18x10 +51 front (with skinnier coilovers for clearance). Folks like Maxcooper and others use this size for track, etc. All things being equal, the 17x9 +35 would stick out 3-4mm compared to this. Again, you can 'get back' those few mm's by doing what I mentioned above - but this introduces more problems.
Honestly - there are alot of other wheels out there are reasonably priced and have fitments better suited to the FD. Just need to dig around a bit to see what catches your eye.

ok dclin thanks for the help mate, did you say you wanted to sell your wheels, ill consider a nice set, have you got some pics of the car with your wheels i would consider second hand wheels as long as there not battered. i bet you spend some money of 4 sets of 18"
