Below are photos of the following:
1) daily tires; pair of 265/40R16 track/autox tires; and a 225/50R16 track tire;
2) the Supra MkIV wheels mounted on the FD (center's bored out);
3) front view with the wheel turned a little;
4) side-view showing how all of the tire is INSIDE the fenders, no rubbing/interference whatsoever;
5) rear-view of the 265/40R16 Kumho 710's;
Enjoy,

Last photo is a close-up (edge is foo-bar, but wheel is still true, that's the wonder of an OE wheel).
BTW: the entire wheel/tire combo weighs approx. 40-lbs., and per TireRack, a Kumho 710 in 265/40R16 weighs about 24-lbs.
So that would make the wheel about 16-lbs.
IMHO, fairly light, esp. for an OE wheel, not aftermarket or race.
Also, the 265/40R16 has a diameter of about 25.2-inches, while the same Kumho 710 in 225/50R16 has a diameter of 24.7-inches.

Well Ok, I am looking at it from a purely 1st gen racing point of view. I run 15"'s and don't really care about the "tuner" stuff. If you want light and durable racing wheels diamond makes good ones. I am sure if you called them they probably do have 16"'s I run hoosier racing slicks on my wheels and the car has plenty of bite.
