Manny, you are correct. The rear wheels have more of an aggressive lip than the front ones do and the finish is a smooth shiny looking type that stands out.

fucking nice!

If it helps Manny, i'll bet theres almost 5-6 lb difference bwetween the volks and the BCs (or other modulars) I really couldn't believe how light they were.

Originally posted by RX7 RAGE Hi guys, the size of the wheels are 17x8F and 17x9.5 in the back and offset is +38 in the front, +42 back. Tire size is 255/4017R and 225/4017F. The wheels are very light! I weighed the 9.5 one on a digital scale and it came out to 16lbs compared to the volk gtn I had which was 22lbs. This was a special order color that took almost 4 months to arrive from Japan. I'm gonna take up close pics of the wheel soon. |
something tells me, those are fucking sexy wheels, I can't believe what I saw today, congrats...can I polish them please? sorry I have a wheel fetish. :p:

Manny,
I like these rims too but would like a nicer "silver" finish. I was following this thread on the M3 forum. Apparently, if we can get a group buy of 5 or more they can custom make the rims. I don't like the look of the center but would prefer the CE28n with the LE37 center. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...ght=volk+ce28n |
Also,
the way those rim "reverse bow" maybe the LE28n's http://www.importhookup.com/forums/s...hp?threadid=22 |
You can polish them anytime will. lol :D

However, I really doubt that there would be a four pound difference. |
Yea, my 17x 9.5 ce28n weights in at 16lbs so there's no way that is correct.
|
I have gunmetal LE-28s on my car. 18x8.5 up front with 18x9.5 rears. They are soooooo friggin light. I really couldnt tell much of a difference in acceleration from the larger rim, but I can tell I have more grip now. I'll try to get pics, but since I'm not at home that may be hard. BTW my fd is red too, so for those of you who want to see these rims in gunmetal on red I'll try to post pics. They have the polished chrome lip too.

I SAY GROUP BUY!!!!! :D
|
I've got a pic of my car now with the gunmetal ones, but its too friggin big so I either need to compress it or have somebody host it for me. Any takers?

Nuke hurry up and post pics! I am debating between the two rims...:D
|
What kind/size tires are on your LE28's??
|
I ordered Gunmetal CE28ns. Its been 2 months so I hope to have them in another 4 weeks or so. I will certainly post pics when I get them.

Used to use 235/40 in the front and they always rubbed a little with my old O.Z. rims. |
I've got 235/40ZR18 in front on mine and they rub when I go up on my driveway. The rears are 265/35ZR18 and they have no clearance problems. My car is really really lowered though.
As far as the pic is concerned, its WAY TOO FRICKIN BIG!!! Can anybody shrink it or host it for me? The file size is 1.29MB and I do not have any programs that will compress it where I am at. If you can do something, email me at cavinbl1839@smail07.cnet.navy.mil . As soon as I get a smaller version of it, I will post it, so keep checking back. |
Or if you want to see them THAT badly, you could email me at the above address and I'll send it out to you.

LE28Ns
CrazyCanuck,
Do they have 9.5 x 18, 47 mm offset for front and 10.5 x 18, 44 mm offset for rear? I'm thinking 265/35-18 front and 295/30-18 rear? Hot car :) https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...postid=2819491 |

Re: Re: LE28Ns
Originally posted by CrazyCanuck 265 and 295 will be a lot of tire, should look nice. I personally prefer keeping a slightly narrower tire for ease of drifting... yes, those le28s looks hot. :D

nice car, wanna race hehe
|
Manny,
they have the 18" CE28n with 10.5 in the rear 45+ offset. 9.5 47+ offset for front with the star "*" to denote that it will clear the RX-7 big brake calipers.... won't that fit??? I have after market trailing arms and coilovers. Also, what option do you have to specify to get the spokes to "reverse bow" like that? Lower pad height??? I might have to order these...someone photoshop the above car to IBM please:D |
The rims just bow like that the way they come. That's the style. It seems like a lot of people are interested in my pic. I sent it out to everybody who asked, so whenever they shrink it and send it back or if they post it themselves, you all will be able to see it. The pic has the rims, but my car now has the rotaryextreme feed carbon fiber side skirts on it. Also, please dont ask about the cop car in the pic (everybody does). It just HAPPENED to be behind my car when I took the pic. Hopefully I'll have it up soon...

damn, thats nice. Is the front hitting the fender lip?? It looks awfully low. :)
|
It hits when I go up on a driveway or something. I had to roll the fenders. I'm going to be moving the battery to the hatch area so maybe that will help a bit too, since its the left side that rubs the most. Its not a real big problem though. Potholes suck a lot more.
|
Nuke, what springs do you have on your FD? Lemme guess--Racing Beat springs? Wheels/tire sizes please :) Sweet car. I'm partial to red FDs (my R1 is red, see sig below LOL :) )

I might have to order these...someone photoshop the above car to IBM please:D The 10.5 x 18, 45-mm offset with 295/30-18s should work in back without M2 trailing arms. You might need to roll your rear fender lips with 295/30-18. Narrower 285/30-18 or 275/35-18 tires shouldn't require rear fender lip rolling with 10.5 x 18, 45-mm offset CE28N. The reverse bow comes from low offset and pad height choice. Usually only the rears can have that look (Rx7 RAGE's rears). The 9.5 x 18, 47-mm offset don't bow like that. Check Cossie's car (he has that size all around with 265/35-18 on his white FD). Nuke and Crazy, do you think we can get those cool "VR" center caps for the sweet LE28Ns mounted on the "plain-vanilla" CE28Ns?? |

I've got Eibach springs on my car. I think its the pro kit. The last owner installed them, along with most of the other suspension stuff. I'm running 235/40ZR18 up front and 265/35/ZR18 in the rear. I'm not sure about offset, I could ask Ashraf to look for me because he has my car right now.
About the center cap thing, I guess I'd be willing to trade somebody the center caps if they had one that I though was just as nice or nicer looking. I haven't seen any of the other center caps that volk makes. I love the red fd's too. I wouldnt choose any other color. I cant wait to get my feed type II front bumper on there though. The 99 combos look so awesome. I do with the red was a bit darker though. |
Hmm, howard coleman thought Eibach Pro Kit springs would work well. I'm surprised you're getting some rubbing. According to howard coleman, the Eibachs should be a conservative drop with about 350 lb/in spring compression rate? I have H&Rs. Perhaps the H&Rs are stiffer in spring rate after all, since I've had no rubbing problems with 9 x 17, 45-mm offset with 255/40-17, nor with 9.5 x 17 Pirelli P6000s, 42-mm offset with 275/40-17 Hoosier R3S03s up front?
