unadjustable ohlins???

hi all

friend is trying to raise his FD so he can get it reregistered here in japan, ( the dreaded shaken)

he recendly bought the car and was happy to see it had ohlins shocks fitted. but the car is way too low to pass and needs to go up at least an inch

he pulled off a wheel expecting to see a threaded damper but it has the stock looking fixed lower spring plate

he suspects if the shocks are removed from the car they may be able to be taken appart and rebuilt with the spring plate at a higher position???

or the problem could be the tanabe procedeo springs are too short...he picked up some stock suspension units from a wrecker but 1 of them is damaged

is he able to put the stock springs on the ohlins dampers?
