Question Tried FD chart insert.

I have tried to insert the off set for the rims that I am looking at buying. I am unable to do that.

I am looking at the enki RS+M in a 17 in. by 8 up front with off set of 35 or 45. For the rear I am looking at 17 in. by 8.5 with off set of 35

I like these rims for the look and tha weight of the rim. I there are other options let me know. The Enkis weight 15.8 lbs for front and the rear is around 17 lbs. or lower.

Pretty skinny to run on an FD...but the correct choices from those would be 17x8 +45 up front, 17x8.5 +35 at the rear. I would run 235/45 and 255/40 tires.

The sizes that you gave me is what I was going to run. Will I have any problems with this set up? Also what else would you reccommend? What tire would you go with as well?

Thanks for your help.

The 17x8 does not come in the correct bolt pattern. The 8.5" has the correct 5x114.3 bolt pattern, but the +35 offset is too low for the front. You need to look for different rims.

He is right. You need to look at different wheels. If you like Enkei, the RPM2s would be good in 17x8, +45, and 17x9 +40. Same tire sizes.

I had called Enkei 2 days ago an d asked if they had the 17x 8 rim in the 5 x 114.3 and was told that they did. I then looked at the web a noticed that they did not have it listed. Tha is when I noticed that the off set was wrong.

I like the look of the rim as well as the weight. I want to stay around the same factory weight for the rims with 17s. I will be gooing to ss9 this weekend so I hope to see something I like.

I do like what fdnewbie has on there site for rims, but I want to know the weight. I send him an e-mail but no responce. Hopefully they well get back to me.

def3, I just looked at the Japanese Enkei....they have those rims in the appropriate size/offset for the Japanese market. A good Enkei importer can get them for you probably.

17x8, +40 or +48 offset front, 17x8.5, +35 offset rear

Thanks rynberg.

Now with this off set of +48 would I still be able to run a 235/45 tire up front? And for the rear would a 255/40 be to big?

+48 is easier to run a 235/45 tire.....255/40 is the largest you should run on an 8.5....this is the Mazda OEM fitment for 99+ FDs...

I will see if I can find some to import the rims for me in these sizes. I also am still waiting to find out the weight for the rz rims and the 02 type a rims.

I am looking at tires on try rack to see which brand to go with. I do want about 15k out of the tires with med to low road noise. I want a tire with great handling. No driving in the snow and driving when it rains in socal.

Hopefully I can get the wheel weight for the other rims because I am starting to like them more and more. I am thinking of goin with one of those. What do you all think of the rims I am trying to get? I only ask to get an idea for what people go for on there cars.

Thanks for you input

I will be going with the Advan Neova tires.
