Tire Time
What's up guys, okay this is going to be my first time buying tires so I'm kind of clueless. I have a 1988 GXL and the O.E.M. size is 205/60-15, but I want to go a little bit wider. Is that possible? If so, what size do you recommend? Also I'm basically looking at 3 different types, if anyone has any experience with one of the 3 please drop a reply.
*Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
*Yokohama AVS Intermediate
*Yokohama AVS dB
Thanks,
E

What's up. It really depends on your functionality needs. ARe you looking for ultimate performance, average performance/comfort, or just want to spend a shitload on a tire that won't last that long but handles cool.
Either way, for dry weather I would take the Intermediate anyday, because of its price and proven performance abilities.
Here's the respective tread ratings,
db = 320 AA
sport = 180 AA
int. = 160 AA,
from this you can interpolate the performance and lifespan.
I'd get the 215/60/15 in the AVS Intermediate. That's what I did and can get you those tires for $80.00ea. + shipping. Or if I go to Sacramento you can meet me or I'll come up to Napa and you can give me and my woman a tour.
Thanks,
