Need Tire Suggestions! I got my new wheels!
Sup all! I just picked up a staggered set of wheels today. The brand is called "Zauber" (never heard of it if you asked me, but they're nice and 3 piece!). The size and offset is 17x8 +29 and 17x9 +36, and I plan on leaving the fenders stock, so... throw me some good tire brands and sizes people! i'm guessing i can run 225/45's up front and 255/45's in the rear without any clearance issues...
Here's a few pics....
thanks in advance for any of your input

My input is that you need to decide what you want to do with the car, cost, miles driven / year, all conditions and weather you will encounter while driving, acceptable noise level, etc.
I recommend you decide all of this and then go to www.tirerack.com and read about the various tire groups. Learn about the tradeoffs inherent in any tire design. Figure out which group you want, what types are available in both of the sizes for your wheels, and then research those particular tire models.
For us to throw tire models at you with the info you've given is a blind waste of time.

cool. thanks for the link... i'll try to decide based on my own preference... but for the meantime, i'm looking to get a tire set-up that isn't all too loud and rather smooth on bumps, last me atleast 5 months including daily driving and weekend fun, and give me a decent amount of performance... any recommendations?

5 months is an awfully short time for a set of street tires. Expect a year or three.
Check Tire Rack's Ultra-High Performance tires, and look for ones with a good noise and rain performance rating. Although Touring tires are quieter, they can be a little pedestrian in terms of grip and wet characteristics. All Tire Rack tires have a review section - check all that out.

BF Goodrich KD's. I had Toyo RA1's for 4000 miles and they were done. Great on the track but extremely bad on wet roads. I've had the KD's for bout 2000 miles now and they are all around xcellent with a much better treadwear than the Toyo's, and extremely good wet traction for a perfomance tire

heres a good guide for hi perf tires-

btw, i'd go 235/40 and 255/40. 225/45 is an inch taller than 235/40 and would dfinately rub sooner.
you can also go 245 up front- just gotta fold up the inner lip of the fenders

225/45/17 is the same diameter as stock.
Don't run a 235/40/17, it's too short. If anything, run the 235/45/17, it'd the STOCK front tire size on later model RX7's.
255/40/17, NOT 255/45/17 is the correct rear size, and also a stock size on later model RX7's.

Diameter of the stock 205/60/15 (FC) tire = 24.7"
Diameter of the stock 205/55/16 (FC) tire = 24.9"
Diameter of the stock 225/50/16 (FD) tire = 24.9"
Diameter of the 235/40/17 = 24.4", difference = 1.1% (15"), 1.9% (16") too small
Diameter of the 235/45/17 = 25.3", difference = 2.6% (15"), 1.9% (16") too big.
For the FC the 235/40/17 is the better size, it's closer to the mean stock diameter and is smaller for less chances of having problems with rubbing, and gets the car a little lower for better handling and grip. The 255/40/17 is the right size for the rear though, the 255/45/17 is too tall. When it comes to the FC, what they did on FD's really doesn't matter or have much/any impact on what's good for the FC.
For the FD the difference is even from the stock 16" size to either 235/17 size, so it really makes no difference which size you use. If you say the 235/40 is too short, then you should be saying that the 235/45 is too tall, it's only fair, the difference is the same.

nothing wrong with 40 sidewalls all around. also, i dont see how a shorter (smaller diameter) tire is bad thing. if its shorter in the back, you'll get slightly better acceleration. in the front, more fender clearance. whats to complain about there?
i have 245/40/17 KD's on 17x8 30mm offset mustang gt wheels. folded up that lip, and it never rubs. well, unless i hit a hole under hard cornering. but then, any tire would rub in those circumstances. i just mounted 255/40/17 ContiSports on back (17x8 30mm offset again) and now it rubs the inner lip on hard bumps (didnt rub with 245's). gonna have to fold that one in too i guess.
