I think its tighty righty, lefty loosey. I believe, its in the instructions some place with a (in english) picture. I'll have to find them and let you know. For a kick you should write TEIN USA and ask about the instructions, they are very good a getting back to you.
I asked them, since they are in the US now, if I could get the instructions in English since my Japanese isn't very good.
The response was, "I'm sorry but at this time the instructions are only availble in English."
Great, I feel special I must be the only one with Japanese instructions. Hm, oh wait, nevermind.

I believe counter-clockwise for softer settings, clockwise for firming them up. Basically the same as glassman just stated. I got the same response when I asked for a set in English, sigh...anyone figure out if those electric damper adjusters will work on the FD? I'm positive they'd work on the rears.

I've got mine set at 10 from soft front and 8 from soft rear.
I had 12 and 10 at first, but it was way too hard on these Upstate streets. Rule of thumb the lower you go, the stiffer your shock should be to keep it from bottoming out.

I'm running 6f/r. I've run as high as 10. Just had the car corner weighted. When I locate my printout, I'll post all my info.

I had a thread going about a week and a half ago, several others threw in their input on adjustments there as well.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=68252

For crusing around town & freeway I'm set at 12 down from stiff in rear and 9 down from stiff in front. Still need to play with f/r stiffness for launches to reduce wheel hop, just haven't had time to play.

wow!! glass man, you set yours at 12 and 10 before?? i bet you were jumping up and down in the car.

well, i set mine at 8 front and 6 rear today and it felt pretty awsome. I cornered a street at around 45-50mph and it busted right in no problem. i love these ****** coilovers.

well, H&R has that comfortable ride not too stiff or too soft but the drop is too little for me(1.25").

the Tein HA is a coilover kit where you can adjust the stiffness of your shocks and the ride hight.

And, you can pick the spring rates, and the shocks can be re-valved and re-built in the US!!!
Yeah the setting was a little high, but I like it stiff, the stock R1 Suspension just didn't do it for me. Too soft and too high.

I headed out to the drag strip last night for a few tuning runs. My initial settings were 6f/6r which I changed to 1/f (softest) and 6/r (from soft). IMO, if we refer to the settings, we should all do it the same, 1 being the softest, 12 being the hardest setting. So when someone says 6 or 10, they know it's 10 clicks from full soft, not the other way around. But I digress....

The second run didn't yield any wheel hop which was obviously a good thing. The third run however, had plenty. So much for M2's trailing/toe links eliminating wheel hop. I didn't bother to switch the settings to something firmer in the back mostly because I was preoccupied with beating the Z06 in the lane next to me. Perhaps a higher setting of 8-10 may help with the wheel hop, dunno. Guess I'll find out next week! And yes, I did beat the Z06, by almost half a second and 5mph. In the 1/8 mile! :-)

Watch it - I'd be very careful about blaming the suspension settings on the wheel hop.&nbsp Too much power on a street tire will cause wheel hope, no matter what your suspension is set at.

Nic - you can probably tell from these pictures the diameter of the HA springs.

Ted,
That may be, but Pettit and M2 both advertise their trailing arms as helping to eliminate wheel hop. The only thing that really eliminates wheel hop (I've now determined) with the stock suspension geometry is your right foot on the accelerator. :-) I was merely suggesting that a higher shock setting out back may help to lessen or even remove it all together. Lower in front for weight transfer, higher in the rear to help control wheel hop. FWIW, wheel hop was much worse with the stock suspension.

Sorry, I don't have any direct experience with the Pettit or M2 products.&nbsp You're exactly right - your right foot is the ultimate control!&nbsp I'd be more than suspicious when someone claims "ELIMINATE" wheel-hop for any bolt-on product...

yeah, most of the people that i know have the M2 trailing arms and toe links and they are stating that it's not helping at all. I guess i'm gonna do all my bushings in the future and easy on my right foot.

badog - kinda a long story, spanned 2 weeks, I'll appreviate.

1) Stock mounting brackets had to be machined to accomdate the Koni's after Truechoice claimed direct bolt up.

2) They sent me the wrong sized springs

3) They sent me the wrong sized springs again, after confirming twice what the correct size was

4) Finally received the correct size, and once everything finally got mounted on the car, the first time the wheels hit the ground the passenger side front shock blew a seal, spewing shock oil all over my engine bay...

After that I said screw it, had TEIN overnight some HA's which bolted on and have been wonderful!

oh ya, and somewhere in the middle of all this I ended up missing a Dyno event that I sponsored personally for almost $2k. ie couldn't go back to the stock shocks because they mounting brackets had been machined, see #1.

Wow! Thanks for sharing the experience. I had them price up a suspension and brake package for the car back in '96...I bought a house instead.

Looked at the HA's about 18 months ago. Now that I know someone local who has them, if our paths cross I would be interested to see how they feel. Glad Tein is supporting the US market.

Regards.

The TEIN's adjust anywhere from "jar all your fillings loose" to "floating down the highway in your caddy".

Passen recently became a TEIN dealer. I think Jason @ the RX7 store may pick up the line as well.
