Springs, shocks, and spring seats

I have a couple of questions for others who have gone through this.

I am looking at purchasing new shocks and am figuring I should replace the springs while I am at it. I do not want to lower the car too much. I have 235-45-17s on all 4 corners. and I currently get some rubbing on the plastic fender liner on hard right hand turns (normally not on the street, but in parking lots when I turn the wheel all the way).\

So, here are my questions:

Tokico has a kit that comes with Illuminas and 1" lowering springs. Does anyone know the rate on these springs, does anyone have this kit installed?

KYB gr-2 Shocks. These seem to be the cheapest. My cheaper option is to get these with the rsr-down springs. Anone running this combo? The rsr down prings only drop the car .8" at each wheel

Lastly, What is causing my current rubbing? I think the rubber spring seats could be worn causing the car to sit lower then stock leading to the rubbing. I'm sure it could be the liner drooping a bit also. Has anone else replaced the rubber spring seats to solve this problem? How much are they?

I would definately like to stiffen up the supension some, but don't want to have to roll the fenders so any advice is welcome. Thanks.

If you are already rubbing, use stock springs. I can guarantee you that it will rub more with any lowering springs. Koni shocks actually have an adjustable spring perch which will allow you to lower the suspension just slightly ~1/2" if you use the middle perch. On the highest perch they are the same as stock ride height. Shox.com has some good deals on Konis.

Also might want to consider the upper shock mounts which might be in need of replacement. You can get those from Malloy Mazda. Check the FAQ thread in the 3rd gen section for his number. Its the 5th thread...

Thanks, I would like to go with the tokico illumina kit which comes with springs.
Does anyone know what the spring rate of these springs are??? All it says is that they provide a 1" drop front and back.

I will definately replace the upper spring seats as well since I believe this is the source of my rubbing, probably along with some sagging of my fender liner.
