I recently bought some Brembro slotted rotors, and would like to know which pads I should use. Go with the Brembro pads, or some other brand???? Yes I did a search, and yes I purposely posted in this section bc fo the higher level of traffic. Thanks

I personally hate Hawks, I had the HPS on my car and the dusting was terrible. If you let it sit at all it chews into the finish of your rims.

I like the EBC Greenstuffs for daily driving. They do wear out quicker than the Hawks, but they are friendlier to the rotors and the dusting is less than the Hawks.

But of course the right pad for you is dependant on your driving style, if you are going to race or autocross your car, etc.

i have cross-drilled slotted rotors, and with teh hawk hp blacks, the stopping power is awsome, plus i have stainless steel hoses

I used to have the Hawk HP+ pads but they dust and squeak pretty bad. I now have the Hawk HPS and like them a lot better.

BTW I will be driving this car on the weekends, and at the strip only. While dusting is a concern, stopping power is my primary objective as well as bang for the buck. thanks for all the responses fellas. Keep em coming

Yeah, right. The Hawk Blacks are a pure race/track pad. They suck in street driving and will chew rotors up very quickly in those conditions. The best street/track pad that Hawk makes is the HP+, which will dust a bit, can squeal under light braking, but grips hard and never goes fully away at the track.

Yes, there is no such pad as "Hawk HP Black". There is no such thing as "Hawk HP" pads, either. Hawk HPS are street pads. Hawk HP+ (or "HP PLUS") are street pads that can do light track duty. Hawk Blacks are track pads and will dust, spark, and eat your rotors if you try to use them on the street.

I usually don't cut corners with my FD,...but when I installed a set of CD Rotors last week I bought new pads from Oreilly's Auto Store (AutoZone didn't carry the correct rear pads).

Anyway, the cost was under 20 bucks for the Front set and less than 16 bucks for the Rear set. They come with a 1 year warranty. They don't squeal and they've been performing flawlessly!

Unless you take your car to the Track every week, I wouldn't spend too-too much on "high performance" brake pads.
