Single vs Double vs Triple Adjustable?

I am still in the market for new suspension...

I have a 93 FD with Tokico Illuminas with Tanabe race springs. Front and rear strut tower bars, front/rear sway bars, diff brace, R888 F-18x285, R-18x335. At this point I would consider only Ohlins, JRZ, Moton, Penske, QRS. Since I am still working out the kinks of my car, it has only seen the street. However, I am trying to set it up for the Track, so any considerations should be for a Track oriented car. Between handling/performance vs comfort, I will take handling/performance.

At the low end of my budget, at the recommendation of a suspension expert/guru, I am leaning towards the Ohlins DFV revalved and with stiffer springs.

It this good enough? Max budget is probably somewhere around 6K after everything is said and done if there is a significant argument over the Ohlins DFV.

I am not opposed to fabrication and modification for remote resovoirs... just saying.

What should I do? Ohlins DFV, or use more of my budget on something more Single, Double, or Triple Adjustable?

Thanks,
~CYD

I am well aware...that was my expert guru recommendation I mentioned above for the Ohlins DFV. I just don't want to hammer the nail down without throwing it out here first.

With B. Dalton on teins.
Jack Mardikian on Penske 8760
Ptrahn on JRZ D/A
Beth/Erik on Koni Double with hyperco springs
Damian on JIC?

Perhaps someone can add as to why aren't they used more by this community? or their reasoning for choosing differently.

i would guess it depends on the shock builder. for example, Guy Ankney is renowned for autox valving, but only builds Penskes, so all his customers use penskes. He used to work for ProParts (I think), and probably did Konis back then.

Chris mentioned to me that he likes Ohlins better than Penskes, dunno why exactly.

Ohlins also builds a external reservoir double adjustable race suspension for the FD, it is extremely rare and runs ¥450,000 ($5,750) if you can find one. R-Magic and Panspeed both used these on there 55 second Tsukuba Time Attack FD3S Race Cars. Bonus is they both are both specially valved for stiffer springs and come with superlight Swift springs instead of those mediocre Eibach/Ohlins springs.. Rates come 16kg Front/ 18kg Rear.
