Shock Tower Rubber Grommet Removal

Shock Tower Rubber Grommet Removal
When you try and remove the stock suspension there is a rubber disk that is held in place by a 14mm nut in the center of the shock tower mount accessible from the top of the tower (Open Hood and it's what you mount the Strut Tower brace to)...
This center nut hold the strut in place when all 3 nuts have been removed so the entire thing doesn't drop down, or something... anyhow... when turning this nut (In the center above the rubber grommet) the rubber thing spins and it doesn't loosen the nut, I had to wedge a wrench under the rubber to loosen it, but I'm wondering if there isn't an easier way to loosen those nuts !? Any Ideas !?
From the look of things it needs some sort of Claw holder to slide underneath and hold the nut in place while you loosen the top...
Sorry to clarify, this is when removing the stock suspension...

If its the nut I'm thinking about, most people use air tools. Be careful with that nut. Its the one that holds the spring in place. When you unscrew that big *** bolt, you can then remove the sprint and strut tower bearing thing and take the suspension assembly apart.
NOTE - do not take that ******* nut off w/o compressing the spring especially if its the stock spring. The spring will rebound with lots of force and if any part of your body is close, you will be one hurting broken ****.
I usually just pull the entire strut assembly off and take it to a mechanic/friend who has the right tools and have them do it up.
