ROTA Grids on my FD...

Just wanted to share my latest effort on giving my FD a different look...I decided I wanted to pursue a more aggressive fitment and went with a wheel to exagerate the look...these are 18 x 9.5" ROTA Grids with a +38 front offset and a +20 rear offset.....weight was measured at 22lbs per wheel.....Tires are Nitto 555's 225/40/18 stretched on the front and 235/40/18 out back....

www.Wheeldude.com is where I got them...Dan was very helpful and kept me updated through the entire process of getting them.....highly recommended.

looks good but since you're stretching it will look better if you tuck a little tire or lower the car more.

I like the look of those..it's too bad you wont have a little more rubber to put on the road for grip.

Looks good but based on your tire sizing you're obviously going for form over function...ok on a civic making 50rwhp, but on an FD...not the greatest idea in my opinion.

Different strokes for diff fokes...I like the wheel choice though. Good luck with it!

I have pushed the car pretty well into some corners and it stuck pretty well!!...better than my last tires...(they were probably dry)...but the car doesnt get any track duty anyway....its more of my weekend cruiser....and straight line traction is MUCH better than the old dry 275/40/18's...so in my case..its doing really well!!....haha...

...heres a couple more pics from testing a lower setting...

Could you stop taking pictures at angles? It actually makes it harder to look at the fitment.

Just sayin you should get a DSLR for these types of shots.

I think you should run a little more negative camber and more lower to get the stretched look perfect.

lower it more. you could have gotten the other +20 on the front. People on here hate to see agreesive fitment. anything less than a 265 on an Fd in supposely gonna kill you.

Better traction with 225's and 235's than 275's? Nice looking car though...

Aggressive fitment and stretching the tire are two separate aspects.

It looks like you're running 19/18 stagger in this pic. 19's up front and 18's in the rear. I dunno. Something about it is off.

Rest of the pics look good and 22lbs each for a cast wheel in that size is quite interesting.

Car looks amazing and fitment aint bad at all.

....agreed....this was an attempt to bring them both together at a happy medium...

...and as for the 235's hooking better...I dont know...maybe its just having fresh rubber that makes it seem that way!...lol

Ive been thinking of getting these same wheels for street use but I wanted to mount my spare set of 265/35/18 tires on all four corners. I dont know what offset I'll need for my tires to clear. I'm worried about the tire hitting the fenders going up driveways n stuff.

OK so a tip that will make them look even better. Just remove the Rota decal from the centercap and make your own, OR just remove them altogether. For some reason Rotas on a FD just doesn't seem right but I can totally respect the "value". Just seeing Rota there makes me feel weird. If you remove it I think i'll feel better. lol. jk.

Wan, for the rears this obviously wouldn't be a problem but up front it is unless you get some Feed front fenders. Then you can basically run the +38 front and rear.

Otherwise with stock FD front fenders you'd still need a +48 offset or something in the 10" up front, rear isn't a problem with stock fenders and a minor roll.
