Ride height?

Ride height?
I'm pretty dumb to ride heights. Uhmm
What is the general theory..Lower the center of gavity equaly in all four corners?
I would rather set mine up slighlty higher (1/2") In the rear than the front. It seem like most people generally take it lower in the Rear of the car. Can anyone provide any info on this.
Spring suggestions?
What about just swapping to an R1 stock set up?

you want the same weight on all four corners. On a car that's perfectly balanced, that should mean the same height all the way around. minor adjustments to the height over each wheel (through the use of coil overs) will help equal out the corner weights.
edit: so is there a reason you want to be a bit heigher in the rear? is it for looks? to accomodate huge drag tires? something else? give us a reason and we'll give you a better idea of what to look for.
switching to the R1 setup won't do anything to the ride height.... and, as you may know, the springs on all RX7s are the same, its the struts that are different.

Re: Ride height?
The thought is that if you lower the center of gravity on the car, you lower the roll center, and the car corners with more stability.
This is mostly true, but you're limited by wheel clearances and such, as well as your suspension geometry (which changes when you lower the ride height).
Ideally you'll want to corner-weigh your FD Rx7, and let that be your guiding force rather than striving for equal ride heights all the way around...Our FDs are slightly heavy on the LF corner, so raising the ride height at that corner, and lowering the RR corner might balance things out...
BTW, most cars get corner weighed with the driver's weight inside the car...

Actually yes I know a R1 set up won't change the height. I like the fell of the R1 though. The higher in the rear comment was just based on astetics only. I would rather have a car that handles like a beast though than one that looks mean.
I want to go a bit lower and not sacrifice smooth driving too much.
I'm not really into racing. It's not my thing. I like having a badass street car really thats about it. I won't be autocrossing or drag racing. Well an occasional drag. I live 10 min away from MIR.
So what would anyone suggest to a suspension newbie?

Ahh...well H&R, Racing Beat, Suspension Techniques, and Eibach make aftermarket stock-style springs for our R1s. The R1 shocks work very well with H&R springs (that's the setup I have), and would probably up to the task working with the other aftermarket springs too...
H&Rs lower ~1.5, RB lower ~1.25, Eibach -0.75, and Sus Tech -1 inch.
