Rear disc brake rebuild

Help.....if you have ever rebuilt a rear disc brake caliper. I have completed the rebuild but I am having difficulty seating the rubber boot back into the piston chamber. It is held in place by a wire clip that is seated inside the boot. How in the world do you get this clip to stay in place?
There has to a trick
Thanks
Mike Aubrey

Yes......however based upon discussions with other 7 owners there is no tool for this job. I was hoping someone had done this rebuild and could share a trick for reseating this ruuber boot.

I looked into rebuilding the rear calibers a while back, I was told that it is more difficult than the fronts. They also said that rebuilt rear calibers from Mazda were relatively cheap (I think it was around $60, with exchange). If you consider the value of your time and the cost of the rebuild kit, buying rebuilt calipers from Mazda might be more cost effective.
I am not sure if this is helpful to your current situation but ....

Good price. How about the fronts? $$? Mazda Comp? Mazda dealer?

I put the boot over the piston, and screwed the piston down to almost flush. Then I grabbed one end of the clip with needlenose, inserted the other end, and worked it down and around the boot.

PITA, sorry, it's not easy. But it's easier than 300 bucks for rebuilt rear calipers.

The fronts cost me ~70 bucks ea rebuilt.

Pretty old post here Sorry for bringing it back up.

Need some info on rear brake rebuild kit.

Mazdatrix has one for $40 PN 26-44Z0-FDY1
and Ray said that he lists 46Z as correct one and it's $60 and he can get 44Z for $33

What's the deal here? What is the difference?

Hm. Nobody knows? Is there any way to check what this 44Z kit applies to?

Ok. 44Z is an internal seal kit, rebuilds calipers but does not have external dust boots and so on. I'd say I need 46Z..
