You stayed with the same size correct? You noticed more fender gap? Not sure I understand your post.

In the end it's function over form, and with your new snazzy coilovers you can just lower the ride height

I briefly ran the star specs on my FD and loved them----amazing traction, and I thought they looked pretty damn good as well

Hm, the XS didn't fare so well in this tire rack test:

Yes, I stayed with the exact size. 225 / 50 / 16.

Just picked up my car. The D2 Coilovers have been installed and thus far no issues at all whatsoever.

I did'nt get to do any highway driving. Took the side streets back to work and too many cars on the road as it was close to rush hour. But as the days go on I will definately let you all know what my experience is with the Coilovers.

I'm glad this is behind me.

interesting. i didnt see that before. i guess the issue is wet performance which isnt a concern for most of us. this is a bright spot:
The Kumho Ecsta XS provided exceptional ultimate grip around our skidpad breaking the 1.0g barrier for the first time in our product test history.

they are a real grippy dry tire and i think thats what we need in high horsepower and low weight FD's. i think it fits for OUR purpose. they didnt turn the best lap times though but if u are a street guy and need to put the power to the ground w/o going drag radials and basically ruining your car i dont think there is a better choice.

for what you use the car for rich i would say go xs.

i am bias though and coming from t-1s there is massive difference

Hmm, yea, didn't see that test. I saw one by grass roots motorsports.

Regardless I'd probably go with one of the following:

Dunlop Z1
Hankook R-S3
Flaken 615
Kumho XS

I have the 615s now and they have been great. If I did more street driving I'd change my list and may consider the goodyears.
