Problems with tire rack.

I ordered a new set of KYB struts for my car from Tire Rack , The brilliant gentleman that took my order sent me 2 right front struts instead of a left and right, I even gave him the part numbers from their website.
I did not confirm my order when it was received until after I broke the left front getting it out.
So here I am with my car up on jacks and no strut for the front. I called back and he promised to overnight it to me fedex.
i just got off of the phone with customer service and the replacement was not shipped, Sorry, it should go out today........

I am very pissed off at the lack of professionalism at Tire rack. Word of mouth is a very powerful tool and the way I have been treated is just wrong. I expect more from a company than this.
I will keep you informed as this plays out but until then

Maybe you should post this in the "Good guy/Bad guy" section.

Tire Rack sucks ***

I've had many bad experiences. Tire Rack blows when it comes to anything outside the realm of stock wheels and tires. I can understand why so many FD and FC owners have questions about wheel/tire fitments as their so called "fitment specialists" are complete **** sticks. The fact that they're in bed with the SCCA pisses me off as well. I rarely buy anything from them anymore.

Hopefully, recent aggressive pricing trends among their competitors will kick their ***, particularly in conjunction with rising installation/disposal fees at many of their "authorized installation centers". I hope the ******* go out of business.

Ahh, I feel better now

Good luck with the strut fiasco,

Gene

Tire rack has the best prices for tires I've seen. So in about 2 years I may order from them. The lwoer the price the happier I am =/

sorry to hear about your bad experience with TR. As for me I have dealt with TR since 1999 with nothing but good experiences...matter of fact just got a pair of 245/40/17 tires from them today...ordered on Monday here on Wednesday...now that good service to me.

I think Tirerack is great for

Tires and standard wheel fitments.

A company that big is bound to have some foul ups. It's understandable. The fact that they could not expedite the replacement does suck. If not handled quick just chargeback on the card and you're good. I bet they will comply real quick. lol.

Does you invoice show two front right p/n or what not? Or does it show all the right p/n on the invoice? If the invoice is correct it's not the sales guy's fault, if it isn't then it totally is.

Best of luck,

Rishie

TR is a great company and does so much for so many people. This is probably an isolated incident. I've worked with a gentleman on the wholesale side and they pretty much know what's up. On the retail side I've found it's more of a dude at a computer who does data entry and reads the answers to you. Once again hope you can get it off jack stands soon and enjoy the new struts.

it was listed as 2 right side struts on the invoice, now I am dealing with customer service to get the wrong parts back to them. I had to pay for the replacement strut and now I want my money back for the wrong part. just seems to hit a brick wall at every turn.
I hope it is an isolated incident but this much trouble ordering struts make me wonder if the can handle larger orders??

Tire rack will sell you whatever wheel you want... they will only guarantee wheels that they KNOW will fit.. If you pull up an FD, you will see MANY staggered fitment wheels. You don't see it for FC's because of the front wheels, there simply are not as many options...

HOWEVER.. if you email them or call them, they will tell you if the wheel you want is offered in different offsets and widths.

The sad fact is that our cars are 15+ years old and are a niche market... WE know what will fit, but how many guys to you think actually call tire rack every day asking for staggered fitment wheels on FC's????????? It pisses me off too that i have to do all the work myself, but its simply not profitable for them to bring an FC into the shop and waste three days trying different wheels fitments on the car......

I just ordered my wheels from them and got EXACTLY what i ordered... the fronts were garaunteed fitment 17X7.5's and then I opted for 17X8.5's in the rear and told the guy that i KNEW that they would fit and i understood thay they didn't gaurantee fitment on thsoe wheels..

Funny thing is.. the rears fit perfectly, and so do the fronts... EXCEPT... the center caps will not fit over the front hub bearing dust cover..... to thin... (the center caps fit perfectly on the back, non gauranteed wheels!!!)

BUT, they are sending me another set of caps that are deeper to correct the problem!!!
