Powerflex vs. Superpro
#26
Made a little press out of a 3/8 bolt and some very large washers... won't know how they perform but i'll tell you that 1) stock bushings were a B**** to get out. and in a few hours 2) how easy the new ones are to put in.

but i added what i needed from power flex, (do not need red,)
Shipped for these items from pf is 492.35 to my door.. cheaper than sp (560.00 shipped)
now i might have a change of heart for the extra $72.65 since i am getting exactly what i need and not have to sell the extra bushings i wouldn't need.
Option SKU Price
1 - Front Lower Wishbone Front Bushing PFF36-301 x2
2 - Front Lower Wishbone Rear Bushing PFF36-302 x2
3 - Front Upper Wishbone Bushing PFF36-303 x4
5 - Front Anti Roll Bar Mounting Bushing (29mm) PFF36-305 x2
6 - Power Steering Rack Mount Kit PFF36-306 x2
7 - Rear Trailing Arm Front Bushing PFR36-307 x2
8 - Rear Track Control Arm Inner Bushing PFR36-308 x2
9 - Rear Upper Wishbone Bushing PFR36-309 x4

Well,
You may or may not have purchased aftermarket sway bars already, which almost certainly came with their own urathane or other bushings if they're worth a squirt. then you've probably done the aftermarket toe/trailing links for more wheel clearance. Scratch those.
The only bushing SuperPro doesn't make is the lower inner rear arm/subframe bushing (#8 on diagram). The factory one is basically a pillow ball encased in rubber. I don't think you want to replace that with urathane necessarily, it's meant to rotate on more than one axis.

just a little teaser...
My 3 dollar Press haha
finished product
One thing I have noticed is that when doing the rear upper control arm.. the shock mount bushing seems to have a little slop in it..
Also.... the front lower control arm.. they put the two longer inserts and 2 shorter inserts into seperate bags.. when I installed the 2 shorter ones into the arm.. I instantly noticed one wasn't long enough. So just be aware that that you need to open both packages first and take one insert from each.. 1 long and 1 short for each individual bushing.

^ Lookin good - beats the heck out of rubber
btw, if anyone is looking for the Superpro toe link or control arm bushings, just send me a PM, I'll sell my (new, unopened) ones for a good price.

Right. The Powerflex bushing isn't, and that's what the diagram is of. The factory one apparently is. The action on it is definitely like a pillow ball, and not like the other rubber bushings, which have some "spring" to them because they are flexing rubber.

I was saying from the diagram that it does not look like a pillowball bilushing the one on post 22, I might call ray tomorrow to get pricing on a couple things I'll ask about that bushing

I'm going to try installing zerks with grooves in the bushings to assist distribution of the grease and about having to pull the A-arms out for re-greasing/service. Polyurethane bushings with a lip on both ends cannot removed for greasing without ruining them
http://www.nissanroadracing.com/show...highlight=zerk
Keep these things greased and there's no reason they shouldn't last indefinitely. I've seen pictures of these things with 35k miles and they look brand new. They don't wear out and deteriorate like rubber. Rubber is vastly inferior imo

^Do you feel that cutting the grooves in the bushings like that is necessary? I understand the concept, but the idea of "hacking" up a $500 bushing kit doesnt sit well with me. I was planning on installing zerks when I do mine, but as for now I dont think I will be dremmeling the bushings.

For those who ordered powerflex, did you get them straight off their website, or through a vendor? I have aftermarket toe links, trailing arms, and swaybars to which I will not need bushings. I prices out just the "rest" that Id need on powerflex's site, and it was still like $415. I can get a full superpro set for not much more than that, and just sell the ones I dont use. Are powerflexs really that much more expensive?
