Which other rear bushings cause "clunking" besides the 6 pillows???

I installed the 6 pillow bushings about a month ago and it cleared up most (about 80% quieter) of the clunking noise I had in the rear suspension. I still have a little clunking , but not as anoying as before. I want it all gone!. Which other bushings would exhibit the type of wear that would cause clunking??

Thanks in advance for your advise and comments.

Those are actually bearings, not bushings.
The other possible sources of the noise are the bushing/bearing on the trailing arms that connects to the chassis and the two bushing/bearings in each toe link. The easiest way to replace these is by upgrading to aftermarket parts. Rotaryextreme sells a nice looking set.

Toe links clunk, too. I think these are perhaps even more likely than the pillow ***** to be a source of clunking (though it is usually both the toe links and pillow *****). Stock trailing links have a rubber bushing at the front and pillow ***** at the rear. You already replaced the pillow *****, so I doubt they are your problem.

Is it when you shift sometimes because I have that same problem and it is my differential bushings are shot. So check those.

Thanks Max. It's best that I just replace the Toe Links too. Looks like an easier job than the 6-PBB's.

BUT....if that doesn't end the clunk, what next to consider?? Thanks. -Jimmy

No. The clunk / loosness, metal to metal banging noice, occurs when the vehicle is driven on bumpy pavement.

I posted the same thing before Max did, and answered your current question, but got no 'thank you' love

If it's not the toe links the noise is probably coming from the trailing arms. I listed the trailing arms first in my original post because those were in much worse shape than my toe links when I upgraded.

The trailing arms and Toe links are not very expensive so it's probably worth the cost of replacing both at the same time to avoid dealing with another failure down the road. If you do decide to replace them you should consider getting the car re-aligned, depending on how **** you are.

You're absolutely right. I apoligize. I usually go to the last post when I re-visit my threads and I obviously missed your post. Thanks for your reply and recommendation. I'll order the Toe Link bushings in a couple of days and do the install next week-end. See what happens then. Thanks again for your advise. Much appreciated!. -Jimmy
