Ohlin Coilovers with reservoir tank FD

Just got these last week. Unboxed them today...still need to assemble.

***They were also able to get me my choice of spring rates 10f 8r...though I can't tell but looking at the springs!?!?***

Thought I would post unboxing pics. It looks to be dual adjustable.

One problem with ordering parts from Japan....THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!

Anyone in Dallas to help translate?

Anyways here are the initial pics. Post more when I have it together (hopefully correctly)

I know other vendors do this...but always a nice touch....

From which shop?

Or Ohlins Japan? My friend here is an Ohlins dealer (he is japanese), so maybe we can get proper instructions if we have more details.

I'm not sure from which shop in Japan they got it from. But it was ordered thru rhdjapan.com.

here is the link:

it would be great to have instructions translated! Especially any torque numbers and how much to pre-load the springs.

I'll send you a pm....

If you get info, I could put these all together TODAY!!!!

I don't suspect you need to put any pre-load on the springs... the fact that helper springs are included indicates that they expect the lower perch to extend below the length of the spring at full droop.

hmmm....I got this email.

I thought these were serviceable at any Ohlins dealer??
The quote about the warranty worries me...

For $4000 they should fly someone over and assemble it for you. Any reason you went with Ohlins instead of Quantum or Aragosta?

Yikes.

I knew that Ohlins USA wouldn't import the non-USA market models for you, but I was under the impression that they would service them.

Damn. That guy sounds like a real ***, to treat someone who just paid $3000+ for a set of coilovers like that... in this economy, no less.

My lottery winnings are going to Penske, I guess.

Ohlins are by far easier to service than Quantum or aragosta. I would probably take up the issue higher up with Ohlins. The guy who responded is probably some dumbass salesguy.

The only real competitor is penske or moton. I guess moton is known for having some issues.

I will follow up on instructions.

No he DID say he would import them in for me. But the price he quoted me was about 500 higher not including the spring rates I requested which would have been another 800 IIRC. Hence the other route. But he didn't have a problem importing them.

thanks...the assembly seems pretty straight forward but I have a set of "extra" washers. Also, the rear springs look like I have to adjust the perch to get the springs to initiall compress....unless I install the wrong springs on the front to the back?

I'll take pictures and explain here in a sec.

oh, when I originally contacted him I told him to go ahead and order the coilovers, but I think there was a misunderstanding and he never did. So I ended up getting them thru rhdjapan.

I have to say that rhdjapan's service has been incredible. The shipping was FREAKY fast...
