One good choice would be the 5Zigen FN01R-C 17x10 12mm offset. It may need a small spacer to work, but it's reasonably light (21-22lbs) and cheap (~$259 ea)and they're fairly strong. It'd be one of the ones on my short list.

FC Rims + Wheel Combo Help
Ahh! FC Wheel Gurus! Need your help.
Search through the first dozen or so pages... and seems like my wheel combo setup are odd. Got a set of brandnew rims for cheap (like 200 bucks all 4 cheap!
) now i am deciding tiresize but not sure what to go with. Heres what i have so far. please tell me if this is gonna work with a STOCK suspension setup. (this is for a 88T2). And also advise any other tires i can go with as well as the ones i am thinking about.
Rims: 17x7 +48 Offset (all 4 rims are the same)
Wheels: 225/45/R17

For those 17x7, 48mm offset wheels and 225/45/17's you'll need a 1/2" or larger spacer, which will require you to get longer studs, which means you need to remove the rear hubs, which means you have to (well at very least should) replace the rear wheel bearings. This starts to add up to make it not as cheap. If it was me I'd try to sell the rims at a profit and buy wheels that fit properly, and I'd get them wider too, 17x8's 30mm offset, as that'll put more rubber on the road.

235's on a 9.5" is a big stretch.
If you want lip, run like a 8.0", +0 to +10 offset up front with the 235's with your 20mm overfenders.
That'll get you BIG lip.

here is what i hasve to work with, i want "work emotion cr kai's" in 18x9.5 with either a +30, +20, or a +12 offset on my vert(i'd rather +20). i want that inner deep dish all around like on a silvia or gtr
i have ordered +20mm front fenders and i'm going roll the rear fenders as needed
and as for tires i'll put on some 245-40-18's if the 235's dont work

that should fit really good. I have 18x9.5 +22 on the back with rolled fenders and they fit great. they would fit awesome on the front too with wide fenders... with wider than a 225 you might need some small spacers. that's getting really close to the suspension... you might actually want to go with the +12's...
and there should be no problem running a 235/40 on a 9.5.

I just stuck my Work Equip 17" x 8.0", +30 up front with Firestone 235 / 45 / 17 tires, and they rub the fender lip.
These are on GC coilovers with Tokico shocks.
They clear everything inside no problem.
I cannot stick my finger between the tire sidewall and the spring coil - it's gotta be less than 5mm of spacer in there.
My fenders are dead stock with no lip rolling.
The lip needs to be rolled with this combo.
So I dunno how the hell people are fitting 245's up there!
We've run 17" x 8.0", +33 and this barely clears everything inside.
3mm of extra clearance would not allow this tire to clear the fender lip - it's that bad.
I sometimes wonder if there are difference clearances between the FC's?
I'll got 7 days off from work, and hopefully I can finally take care of this front fitment page soon!

you could probably go with up to 235's in front with a rolled fender. and probably up to around 255's in back. you 'might' be able to squeeze a 275 in with some slight pulling of the rears.... but IMHO I wouldn't go bigger than 255 unless you really need that extra rubber..... those are the Max sizes you can probably go, anything smaller will also fit...

I think +12 would work all the way around. how much effort do you want to put into the fenders? you will need to pull the rears a bit, but I think the +12 would look sick if you did. +20 will still need a roll and maybefor a little pull, but not near as much.
for some reference here's the inside and outside fitment of 18x9.5 +22 with a 225/40 tire. on the front. I forgot to take any of the rear, but my rear fenders are really pulled so it wouldn't help much anyway. in person, it looks like the inside lip of the wheel is actually in between the coils on the spring... so yeah, you'd definetly want the +12's IMHO.

225/50/16 +40mm offset all around. 87 GXL. Will it work?

Mnay people run 225/50/16's on the stock 16x7, 40mm offset TII wheels without issue, but it'll be awfully close to the suspension up front and you'll probably have rubbing. A lower offset or spacers will fix that issue.
If you're just looking to buy, then some 30mm offset wheels would be a better choice, 8" wide if possible.

I am actually looking to run this setup for ice racing, where we use studless snow and ice tires. I will be running bridgestone blizzak ws-50s, the widest reasonable size they have is 225/50/16.
That being said these wheels will be wintered, so I am looking for something cheap. All the low priced 16x7s with a reasonable weight that the tirerack has have a 40mm or higher offset. Does anyone know where I could get cheap wheels with a smaller offset?

Tire Rack only shows you wheels with about a 40mm offset. They don't think anything else will fit, even though some of the stuff they'll sell you won't fit.
If you give them a call they can look up the wheels for you with a different offset.

But there's a catch...
Run any reasonable tire size on this wheel, and there is no way it'll fit.
You almost need to run hippari stretch to make this fit.
I finally got around to taking pics...
On stock-type shocks, the lower spring perch will interfere with 225 / 235 wide tires.
There is no way it's going to fit without hitting the lower spring perch.
I was wrong about the GC spring perch getting in the way - that's the least of your worries.

To give you an idea what what I consider a "safe" fitment...
17" x 8.0", +30
235 / 45 / 17 tire
The bolt is 6mm in diameter, and it's really tight.
If I wanted to, I could've let go and the bolt would've just sat there.
I wouldn't go more than 3mm more, and that would make it a +33 offset.
