FIA governs Formula 1, so I think they know what they are talking about.
"Wheel" is defined as "rim" + "tire".
"Tire" = self-explanatory
"Rim" = "Wheel" - "tire"
You're talking about "rim" as in "rim of a cup"..."rim of your glasses"..."rim of the crater".
Technically, you talking about is the "rim of the rim".
So when WE talk about "rim" or "rims", that's an accurate description of what this thread is about.

That makes no sense but ok.
A wheel is a wheel & a tire is a tire.
The rim is the outer most "part" of a wheel.

on my car i have 17x9 +18 all around on stock fenders, it fits pretty easily. Most people with a 9in wheel want to run like 255 or even 275 tires on them which is NOT possible, at least not in the front. I've got a 235 45 in the rear and a 215 in the front that i had laying around, soon to be 235 40 all around.

Wow you totally changed the look of it, I couldn't tell it was the same car. The black one is also very nice. For some reason I really like how the sleepy eyes look on your car. Sex on wheels, keep up the good work.

I did a quick test fit. The rears should be fine with a carefull tire selection, and the fronts are gonna need spacers for sure with the stock suspension. How much extra room does coilovers give you?

coilovers will give u a bit, but not enough for that offset... you'll need spacers.. plus u don't want the offset police to come!!

After a shitload of time reading this thread along with some others I have come to the following decision.
I am looking at the 5zigen FN01RC for my FC.
I want to go with
17x8 +25 w/ 225/40/17 for the front
17x9 +35 w/ 255/40/17 for the rear
Should these fit with no problems? I do not want to have to roll the fenders, and I will be lowering the car about an inch or so.
Does this set up seem to be right for a nice flush look?
or should I look at a different offset?

rolling the fenders is easy there is no reason not to do it.
go with 17x9 +15 all the way around if ou want somethign that will fit easy and be as flush as you will want
