A different scenario, 17x8 114.3 +35 front and 17x8 114.3 +20 work? i think from what i have read, +20 on the back is to high?

1988 gtu

I have all stock suspension/body 88 GTU.

I am a total noob so help me out if you can please.

What size wheels and tires will achieve a more flush look without rubbing, rolling fenders or spacers?

Seen posts with 17X8 35 225/45/17 but most people have coil overs it seems.

Thanks!

The beads of those tires aren't even touching the inside of the rim... that's way too much stretch even for show.

And that's way more rear wing angle than you're ever going to need, even for the track. I guess you don't care about gas mileage...

Honestly, why go to the trouble putting a widebody on the car if you're only interested in using skinny negative offset rims and narrow all-season tires?

That expensive rim is gonna look real nice the first time you hit a curb...

I'm thinking of picking up a set of used enkei nt03+m in 17x9.5 +38 all around. How would this work on my stock suspension for now? I'm picking up a set of kyb adj and eibach springs. Thanks!!!

RE Amemiya's FC3S is running 255/40/17 tires... anyone know if it's 8.5" or 9"? and what would the offset be on those?

I'm thinking of running Enkei RP03, with 17" x 8.5" with offset of 30mm, and either put on 235 or 245 wide tires. Based on going through everything on this thread... I believe this setup would fit with no problem (I do plan on going with wider fender), right?

I want to put 18" wheels on my 90 turbo II. What off set will work, not to have the tires sticking outside the fender.

Need some help here. Will be running a x10" et+4 in the rear with a 235/35. Planning on doing a 30mm over fender with little to no camber. Will a 30mm be sufficient? I really don't want to do a whole 50mm back there.

Help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This should have been a teaser shot of my wheels that just came in today.

Instead You get to see the amazing crap they mixed up in shipping and sent me instead.

Somehow I don't think 17x7 +40 4x100 is going to fit... Or is it anywhere near what I actually ordered...

(Now to ship these off and continue waiting...)

i would like to put 18"x8" in the back and 18"x7.5" in the front. i want to run a aspect ratio of about 35 to 45%. the rims that im looking at are +40 offset. i want to run 225s in the back. i dont want my fronts as wide as the back since i am doing a drift project and want more steering angle. i want 215s in the front since its a little wider than stock. how good would a 215 fit a 7.5"? do i need to go thinner or is it better to go with an 8".

i also plan on getting tubs for the front, i also have wide-body fenders and overs. will thinner tires even matter? or should i go wider. i will have about 550-600 hp, i want traction in the back but not too much since i dont want to grab traction during slower drifts.

thanks for the help in advance!
im new here and this forum has answered a lot of my questions already! great community!

I wanted to wait for a real photoshoot... but I could not, I got itchy.
This is how I think the GTUs should have come stock back in 1989...

(Im gonna go on an info overload, because so many people like to hide their "how-to specs" for some reason. I would like to help out whoever it may concern.)

How I got this fitment:
1) Coilovers (BC Racing)
2) Wheels (BBS LM 18x8/18x9 +35)
3) Tires (245/40 & 265/40...Front are Falken fk452, rear is Falken Ziex. They were spare 90% tread tires... Not sure what I will purchase when I need new tires.)
4) Roll the front fender inner lip. Rears do nothing.
5) Rear adjustable camber link (Corksport)

Notes:
*Yes I know, its not "hella flush", Its a more conservative look and probably not considered proper "fitment", I have some tweaking to bring them out more, but for the most part Im happy with the look and could leave it as is.
*The BBS LM's mesh face can be "flipped" to the inside of the barrel to create a +25 wheel. I plan to do this... but then I will lose the gold ring around the bolts, which I like.
*I might put a +5 spacer on top of "flipping" the faces, to get a little closer to the fender...
*RUBBING: NONE. (Kinda. Read more for the excuse.)
Ive not gotten an alignment yet, and somehow the toe on my passenger front got whacked out of specs just before I put the wheels on. the passenger front would rub a little on the fender plastic if I hit a dip/bump/went over a speed bump too fast.
I went ahead and pushed the camber on my coilover pillowball top mounts ALL the way in (Created full possible negative camber) just to be on the safe side.
Going up driveways the WRONG way and hitting dips or bumps REALLY REALLY hard will cause a rub ON FENDER PLASTIC.
Once I thought I heard rubbing in the rear, but I can't repeat the issue, so I don't think the rears rub. Just the front, SOMETIMES, and hopefully a proper alignment will fix why its rubbing, because honestly, I DONT think it rubs.

I officially created my "BBS GTUs" dream car. Life is complete as far as I'm concerned.

245/35 & 265/35...not "245/40..." etc... And Falken fk451...
Thats kind of important info, not sure how I messed that up.
