NTO3+M... whatta name for a super wheel
this is just FWIW..............................
when i bought my car in 99 it had just had an almost body off paint job and some Enkei V1 wheels. i had mixed feelings on the wheels but they were an A+ as to build quality and were very close to perfect as to what i wanted dimensions-wise..
2 piece. 18 X 8.5 front and 18 X 10 rear. 36 front offset, 46 rear. since i track my car at Brainerd and turn one is 165-170 i was very happy w the fact they were close to the last thing that was going to break on the car at that speed.
that was in 99. i have since close to built out the car the way i want it and this winter is, among a few other things, new wheels time.
so i looked and looked, probably like all of you reading this, and concluded that i could spend close to $3K and get exactly what i wanted... Fikses or CCWs or Volk Ce 28s........
or settle for a 9.5 rear and have lots of good choices... but i am running over 500 rwhp on pump gas and methanol and my car goes sideways alot w my 285/30/18s as it is. 9.5s weren't going to do it.
i kept coming back to the NTO3+Ms... i like that they came from Enkei. i liked that they were Competition class wheels. i liked the 19.4 pound weight. i liked that i could get 9.5s front and 10.5s rear. i like a clean looking 12 spokes... i also liked the PRICE.
of course the problem was offset. the front (40) wasn't a problem... the rear was. at 30mm. so i got out my measuring stuff and went to work
i run a 25 inch ride height and i am not changing it. it appears that my rears may be outboard .625.
so i am reading up on making molds. i plan to make a close-to-invisable-lip for the rear and then pull a mold from it and make myself a lip. yes i know there are a few on the market but i want mine to be minimal and perfectly fit the tire/wheel.
i plan to run Hoosiers for my track events and the Silver State Classic so i will check out the dimensions along w maybe somewhat larger street tire.... but i do want minimal.
so, bottom line here is that if you need some serious shoes on your car check out the NTO3+Ms and find a way to make them work.
i will post pics when i get it all complete in late february.
and of course call Rishie to make it happen.

Can't wait. Mr. HC going for the killer setup:
18x9.5 +40 OMG
18x10.5 +30
Oh I can't wait mr Coleman. I really can't. I just found out the 17x9.5 +44 will clear stoptechs too. I love this wheel. Pure Function and totally practical = Pure Sex.
Thanks, Rishie

I've always loved that wheel.
Howard I can't wait to see the car with those wheels. I met you a couple years ago at RR in Indiana and I think you had both of your cars there. Which one do you track?

actually i had none of my cars there. i was still in the developmental stage of my twin TO4 setup and was delayed on something....
so my buddy Dick Lambert rolled out his two FDs. one was the yellow 3 rotor and the other was a white 95. we drove them down to indy. following Dick is always a hazard. he has a tendency to like to race anything on the road and cruise above 100. somehow we didn't end up in jail. the RR was a blast.
i now have over 10,000 miles on my twins and they are dependable and making over 500 rwhp w the benefit of methanol AI and pump gas.
here's my car w the V1s on it... a bit disco
here's my twins
here's the methanol 4 gallon fuel cell
now let's add some wheels and manual brakes...

Howard, you are correct! Those were Dick's cars that I was remembering, but I do remember meeting/seeing you both when Dick popped the hood on the yellow 20b.
Anyway make sure to post some pictures of the finished product, those wheels are going to look delicious on a white fd
