its not that its to tall. its just so wide that its sticking way outside the fender. if you went into a corner, the fender would hit the top of the tire. im making new, wider fenders so this doesnt happen. ill let everyone know how this turns out.

I'm running the 16" Mustang rims (same offset as the 17s) with 225 tires. It's apparent that you can go a fair bit wider then that. Lowering the profile of the tire I think they might be able to get to 255. I have no experience or knowlege in this area, it just looks like it.

Go for some 235/40/17s. I was looking into getting some of the new GT's rims off ebay. I believe I could run 235/40/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the back with no spacers. $300 shippsed isn't bad for some pretty good looking rims that fit some wider tires on them.

Hey OC_, you said that you autocrossed on some 235-40-17's right? Do you have a stock suspension fenders? If so did you experiance any rubbing on the fronts. I'd like to find out as I'd like to get some of those cobra rims for myself and I don't want any rubbing on the track.
