need help with works and bbk, racing brake [spacers]
hello all, haven't been on in a while and just got back state side after about 4 yrs. i had my pops try to throw on the bbk racing brake kit that i bought for my works meisters. i ordered these wheels from japan and supposedly ordered for an oversized brake set up as i was planning on adding them down the road.
now i have issue's of the bolts from the wheels rubbing the front calipers.......the bolts that are holding the wheels together......3pc. i don't know how to acurately measure to determine what size spacer i need in order to make the wheels fit the bbk. any help would be greatly appreciated. i searched in this section and wasn't able to find anything. i was informed that the type "A" on the front wheel was for oversized rotors.
wheel and tire size and type
255/35/18 and 275/35/18
58mm lip front
83mm lip rear

link for spacer measurement
found this info on another web page, it appears to be a good enough way to get a round about measurement. just post this for anyone else that may have run into the same issue i had. photos and items required to measure what size spacer you may be able to run.

Easy way to determine the spacer needed, only with respect to bbk clearance...
Look at how everything (BBK and wheels) are fitting together. Are the bolts hitting the caliper before the hub of the wheel touches the hub on the spindle? If so, then you would not need a huge spacer, but at least 5mm imo - something like 10mm would be better. If the bolts prevent the hubs from contacting, then you need to estimate the distance between the hubs and add some safety room. It would be easy to do with a tape measurer - just measure the distance between the hubs at the point when the wheel bolts touch the caliper. Take this distance and add 5-10mm or so.
You can then compare the above measurements to the measurement you found in that bimmerfest thread. Pick something that is within the range between your measurements.
