Motegi LC5

Motegi LC5
Get my 87 Tll on the track 8-10 days a summer. I'm running stock size (205/55-16) Toyo RA-1's on the stock Tll wheels. Want to run 225's but my aftermarket Bilstien coilovers limit the space with stock offset (I run 5mm spacers just to get the 205's on). Also S4 Tll wheels are bigtime heavy.
So...want to get down to 15X7 wheels that are light (say 12 lbs.) with an offset of 30-35.
Only thing I can find in 15X7 - 5X114.3 <13 lb ....and I've searched and searched... are Motegi LC5's, which are not my favorite, but I could live with them. I see they are no longer listed on the Motegi site, so I guess they are discontinued, and I'll probably have to be quick to find someone with stock.
Anyone use these on an FC. Any comments? Pictures?

Unless you need to comply with class rules limiting you to a 7" wide wheel I'd strongly suggest getting some 15x8's. With 225's they'll give better grip and feel than a 7" wheel. There's some Rota Slipstreams available in 15x8, 5x114.3, 40mm offset, 73mm center bore, ~14lbs, $550 US shipped to anywhere in the US ( www.18racing.com ). You'd still need spacers, but that's not that big a deal. I just bought some of them for my car for track use. They're as close as I've ever come to finding the perfect 15x8 for track use that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Lots of ITS racers use Kosei K1 wheels, but they're discontinued, but if you can get a set used they're great wheels, but will also need spacers. Another option is Team Dynamics wheels, they're available in 15x7, 5x114.3, 35mm offset. They are more expensive though. There's not much in 15x7's that fit, as they're mostly 4 bolt wheels for smaller car and not many people with larger cars want 15's, everyone wants 17's and bigger.

Thanks Black
Just recreational track, so no regs to worry about.
Stock +40 rims would rub the springs just at the bead of the wheel, even with a 3mm spacer. 5mm would give me just enough clearance. So 8" are probably out of ther question as I'd I'd have to run minus 30 offset, and I'd be pushing into the fender (up front). Could change the studs, but that would probably mess up the capped studs fittiing my street wheels.
Was hoping to solve both the weight and offset issue with new wheels.
Hadn't seen Team Dynamics before, so I'll check them out.

They should fit on the back no problem at 40mm, and you're right, about 30mm in front is about ideal, but it shouldn't fub the fenders, especially not with shorter tires, like 225/45/15. I've run 17x8's at 30mm with 225/45/17's on the track many times without any rubbing at all, so a shorter tire shouldn't be any different. A 3/8" or 7/16" spacer will get you to about the right place for fittment. Longer studs aren't a big deal to install on the front (ARP studs meant for late model Camaro and Corvette work), and you can easily get open ended nuts, or deeper capped nuts at just about any aut parts store or tire and wheel shop.
I've not seen a reasonably priced, light, cheap, strong, perfectly fitting wheel in all my searching (quite a bit), it just doesn't seem to exist.
