KYB GR-2's any good for daily FD driver?
The wife's car needs "new" struts. It has 92,5xx miles on the original struts, and they're tired! Since it's only a daily driver (no racing / track events) we want something very close to stock w/o going through Mazda and getting raped on the price of OEM stuff.
Our local parts place has KYB GR-2's for her car. I've driven a S5 'vert with them before and they seem ok for "close to stock".
Anyone have any reasons we shouldn't put a set on her FD, or other options / input?
-Thanks

Not the company
I had them on mine with some TEIN springs...didn't really have any complaints other than the fact that the car was REALLY low. Felt really smooth and the ride was comfortable as long as the road was in good condition.

strike up the paean
the GR2's are stock replacements so you are set
they blow very easily with stiffer springs
with oem springs or very soft lowering springs you should be fine

I would personally look into something like the Tokicos. They can be set soft enough to be just like or softer than stock (as well as set to be much firmer than stock if looking to do a little AutoX or spirited driving) with just a click or two on each shock tower.
Plus, if you do decide to upgrade the springs, you will already be set.
