kumho spt vs azenis st115

Sorry i know we are all tired of the which tire is better questions but i am having a ton of trouble finding much info on the st115.

What i want- Something that i can drive on 2-3 times a week, autocross with, and do mountain runs. So i really want them to stick without crazy wear and price (since lets face it everyone is on a budget)Noise isnt too big of an issue for me but quiter is better so i can hear my revII.

Kumhos have been tested by tire rack and they bet out the competition of yokohamas es100's and bfg g-force sports(which i loved my last set)

The st-115's can't find too much in hard performance numbers or comparisions other than from your average "i drive a civic and these tires are the ****!" But everyone seems to agree they "handle well" and "are extremely quite"

the price difference isnt much only like 10 dollars for both in F-235/45/r17 R-255/40/r17 so that really isnt the problem i just like falkens from experience with them before bt havent heard anything about the st115 and i have never used kumhos but hear great things.

....So help

I don't know that I'd say "wow they beat the ES100s" is a positive. That is like beating up on a retarded kid.

Seriously though... I can't comment much on the compounds. I've rode on SPTs, but not in anger and they didn't do anything remarkably good or bad. If they are like the ES100s or G-forces, they are probably reasonably sticky but will wear quickly. The ST115 looks like it will be alot better in the wet since it has more void area. Most likely quieter too. The SPT is probably slightly better in the dry barring major compound differences.

Unfortunately, going with a relatively unpopular tire (especially in that awful tweener tire class) like the ST115 is not going to give you much to work with from a review standpoint. I'd say both tires are poor gripping junk, but I'm used to auto-x grade tires. Compared to a sporty all season, they are probably a serious upgrade and will improve grip.

This probably isn't the most useful response. Given that choice, I'd probably go with the SPT. Tire Rack is usually pretty accurate in their tests.

I have the SPTs on my Mini Cooper S. I like them. Did one autox and quite a few aggressive mountain drives. Drove them in DD situation, rain and cold weather. Good tires, nice grip, good communication, quiet. I'm kind of impressed.

I've used the SPTs and was very happy with them. I'd certainly reccomend them.

thats kinda the response i am whating for from all of you. jdm i would love to rock some 615's because i loved them on the sti i was driving for a while and they look like a tire you could make love with, however they also come with a hefty price tag.

Wearing down prolly isnt a problem i was on bfg's for about a 1.5 years and around 20k so if i only have to replace tires every year or so i am ok with that.
