Kumho Escta Spt or General Exclaim Uhp, which tires are better ?
I plan on getting some new 205 50 15's for my 5 spoke 91 na rims , these will fit properly right ?
I was actually wondering if anyone is using either of these tires on their car and how good they are or if anyone can compare the two if they have used both.
From what I read the Kumho Escta seem like they have better grip and better in every test they did on tirerack.com , but have lower treadwear rating (probably wear out faster) but they are cheaper at only $56.
The General Exclaim Uhp fell short and was just behind the Kumho Escsta Spt in all tests, but the treadwear is the only thing that seemed to be better (last longer I would think).
Which tire would be better for drifting ? I think the General may be better because of its better treadwear so it would last longer, but then again the kumho tires have better grip so maybe they would drift just as well but not slide out as easily ?
Im just not sure which are better for what I'm trying to do, I'm not a serious drifter..I just want some good tires that I can practice on when I choose to, I dont plan on constantly tearing them up with burnouts/drifts.
If anyone used either of these tires for drifting or autocross etc, or even dragging at the 1/4 mile just let me know how well they worked for you.

I've been using the SPT's in a 225/45/17 size since last fall. One pair is down to the wear bars, the other still has a bit of life left in them. That's with only 2 autocrosses and maybe 15000 km's on them (don't know exactly). The track day finished them off and I've got a set of OEM STi tires waiting to go on for the spring. If you want 45-60k miles from a set of tires you need to get something MUCH more ordinary and harder (wear rating of 400+).
They're good tires though, and for the price you can forgive them for wearing out a little faster than you might expect. They're better than the Falken FK-451's I had before them IMHO. I'd take them over a set of free Generals. I'm pregudiced against General though becuase of a bad experiance with them and my dad's truck. We had a sudden blowout of the sidewall, leaving us having to change the tire on a hill out in the cold in the winter. Not fun. Besides, Tire Rack says the SPT's are stickier.

I've never had problems with that. When it's really cold out sometimes the tires "set" in the position where they've been sitting, causing a flat spot, but drive on them and they warm up and go round again.
