We have not done many groupbuys, and please check as that VW Vortex drama was almost 2 years ago. Now we have all customers fill out the order form at www.iforged.com/fitment2.html and make sure everything is written down on paper. Second the aero wheel is probalby the lightest wheel out there, currently.

I do understand the posts are old but I'd think that there would be somewhere you could point us to show that "issues" have been solved. According to the thread, it certainly didn't revolve "just" around not having a spec sheet filled out by a customer. It sounded like many had a problem directly with you and the way you did business. Whether or not there was a "slant" against you I cannot answer but a positive buying experience from another group of car enthusiasts would do the company a world of good for anyone who read the VW thread (and make my decision to drop money on iForged wheels that much easier!). I've liked the iForged rims for some time but I've always had questions about the company.

iForged has already done fitments for the FD as well, correct? What sizes has iForged produced for the FD model? Currently I run a 18x9.5" rim with a 45mm offset at all four corners. I have room for a 10" rim EASILY in back due to the fact the rear fenders are rolled. I'm no fitment expert however, so I'd be looking for some experience on your side to help pick out the right fitment. Is that no longer possible?

As for the centers, the Aero is the lightest center out of all of them? Are the centers rim specific, meaning is there a seperate center for an 18" rim vs. a 19" rim or are the centers the same with the rim making up the difference in diameter?

I know that my350z.com did an iForged Group Buy recently for 350Zs and G35s.

 

This is a bump for the thread and for Vince. Its gotten alot of interest with 650 some views.

I REALLY like rx7tt95 questions. Vince you answered some of the questions but if you could re-read his post and answer some of his other questions, it would be helpful for those of us still considering these rims.

Ok I signed up for the my350z.com forum and read through the posts...definitely need to be patient as these rims are all custom made, but the customers of iforged on this forum all seem to be satisfied. Another posted that the NSX forum really liked iForged.

But how bout those custom fitment issues? Guess I should just call them :-)

How is the spool rate on the gt 79 compressor on the t-78 vs the stock compressor that is standard on the t-78?

Back to the rims...I love the 5 spoke polished rims I just wish they would have carried the "rivits" ALL the way around the rim like the others they produce...I would also like 17's not the 18's...Kenesis makes a similar rim but I believe the rivits go all the way around and it does come in a 17 but it's also not a reverse drop lip like the iforged. Look at the k57 polished..

Personally I HATE exposed bolts/rivets. Frankenstein-like look, plus exposed bolts make cleaning the wheel a PITA (get your tooth brush and Q-tip swabs out!). I wish more wheel makers would put the bolts on the inside of the wheel like Fikse does! This is the main reason I like 1-pc forged over multi-piece wheels. No exposed bolts give a clean look plus the ease of maintenance!

 

We currently can do basically any offset you want, and any width you want.

These wheels on the supra are



are 18*10 in the front with a +47mm offset, 2" lip in the front still clears the brakes
and 18*11 with a+50mm offset, 3" lip in the rear

I like the rivets but I don't like the plain Jane generic cookie cutter rims you do... Also, if the rims are polished the rivets are easy to clean due to the smooth surface.
Different strokes for different folks.

 

Cleanly styled wheels don't have to be plain looking IMHO...

Actually, IMHO, the Racing Sparco NT-Rs epitomize 5-spoke styling simplicity, especially in the low-key semi gloss black. They're the minimalist's 5-spoke, and are the antithesis of the bling bling I'm starting to dislike in most forged multi-piece wheels.

Besides, if the wheels are for track-only. what's the point of going with bling bling wheels? You just need a light, strong, and simple design with good ventilation. Bling bling adds nothing to performance. You can't argue with $235 each and 17.2 lbs for 9 x 17 wheel. But hey, I ain't stopping anyone from dropping big bucks on wheels. Personally I'd rather spend the extra money on a Hoosier racing tire budget...

 

If tbose Sparcos aren't forged, at that weight, with those srawny spokes, i would think they would bend like butter under track conditions.

 

Manny, I contemplated those as well. Function before style.

But, I think I like the 5zigen FN01R-Cs. They are available in 9x17 43mm I think. Like $220 a wheel.

However, I have been waiting on Rishie to respond to my email on what he can get these for wrapped with Toyo T1S. www.wheelmax.com has them and quoted me about $1550 for 9x17s 255/40s Toyos, shipped, mounted, and balanced. Don't know if they supply Hoosier's or not.
